    I'm a little unimpressed - I don't feel like much has changed from 1.0 to 2.0. There's still something goofy with the game's structure with the way it calculates damage/position and how the animations/castbars are not synchronous.


    I still do Garuda, and sometimes Ifrit. Titan is there and a pain for the same reasons Ifrit Extreme (1.0) and Nael van Darnus were a pain - odd latency/animation delay what have you.

    I still farm endlessly - just instead of doing dungeons for direct RNG drops we grind for Tomes to buy gear, just like we used to grind trash for Tapers/Kupo-nuts/Feathers. Yay for a fleshed out (though rehashed) storyline! Yay for both sexes for all race being included! Yay for nicer UI! Yay for potential DX11 sometime possibly maybe who-the-hell-knows anymore!

    Waiting on - or otherwise removed:

    No Skirmish - No Faction Leves - No difficulty nor requirement to do Dzemael Darkhold, Aurum Vale, or Cutter's Cry - No Hamlet - No Crystal Tower - No PvP - No Good King Moogle Mog - No Extreme Modes

    Lost:

    Original Soundtrack is all but vanished. Class effectiveness is null. No large group content (I thought big group content was going to be a staple of this game...)!

    I find it a little ironic we're all deemed Adventurers but the world (even 5 years after a massive upheaval and geographic/economic/militaristic restructuring of Eorzea) is entirely explored and tamed. There are roads, towns, camps, and villages all over Eorzea. There's very little wilderness left (the dunes in Southern Thanalan are a nice touch)

    Rehashed Storyline was "eh" bordering on "nice" - we lost open world dungeons for level capped direct progression dungeons that really only need be completed once. No more NM hunting -> FATEs. No more EXP burning parties or power leveling - not that I can see much of a difference with FATE. Quests now provide both money and EXP - more quests (many fetch) and loss of longer quest lines (No mention of Hildebrand?)

    Atrocious and over-hyped voice acting, but whatever I'm more of a text log and visual person anyway.

    All in all FFXIV ARR feels stunted rather than expanded and it's going to either go through growing pains or it's going to fade into ignominy again.


    PS: I paid a 3 month sub! I like the people I play with and gladly will continue to sub just to hangout and laugh my ass off with them.
