Shortage of Tank .......

In EA I tanked all the story dungeons up to Tam Tara with yella carby, without a 'real' tank <3 Was a bit hard convincing people I pulled from shout I could be the main heal/dps/tank at the same time though

You're part of the reason I've stopped tanking, idiot dps that think they're better then me. The Archers that pull for me because they're impatient to wait for me to get my TP back, the summoners who have it in their head that they don't need another person. The Thaumas that don't know the meaning of the word threat.

The game has flawed tanking mechanics. Granted I did it on a half tank half dps class, the marauder. Which lacks nearly every single mechanic needed to tank known to man, I'm sorry but health alone doesn't cut it.

:T You're talking to a person that mains War, honey. A mrd is most definitely NOT a 'half dps half tank' (we're a full-on tank that can do some decent dps). We have more than enough 'tank skills', I don't see where you got that idea (ever heard of the term 'blood tank'? War isn't Pld, don't play it like one.). Also I was talking about a premade groups I would make during Early Access because I wanted to level ACN along with the story and there were hardly any tanks and the DF wait was (is) atrocious.

EDIT: Don't give up tanking just because of people that don't know how to play on a team, and don't believe that Mrd is 'half dps half tank with no tank skills' that's nonsense. Mrd/War is even the preferred tank until Titan HM and Coil, so I *really* have no idea where you got that 'no tank skills' from.

DOUBLE EDIT: The game doesn't have flawed tanking mechanics either, enmity is a team effort, plain and simple. Did you know there was a threat meter? Did you know you can tab through targets to see how much threat you have/how much threat your team mates have on a specific mob? Trust me, play the class some more, get with some people that you like playing with, tanking in this game is fun and rewarding if you put in the effort.

Really? Well, its not like people shout for em specifically, I thought it was the general consensus for stuff like AK, TWP, CM and Prae though, since we've generally deal a bit more damage and are better at holding multiple mobs. Heck I don't even have any trouble starting parties for Titan as War. (just that I have to be the one to start them /sigh. Never had anyone leave because I wanted to MT though)

(Although I went back to WAR after it being one of my favorite jobs in 1.0, and I hate it now. It really does feel like a terrible PLD.)

What "wut"? According to Yoshi, WARs shouldn't be using Inner Beast whenever possible. So my job is to just... stand there, since I don't really have any defensive cooldowns I can pop. Oh, and sometimes I get to use a conal hate move to grab mobs. But other than that, I feel like I'm just putting more pressure on my healers, despite having a 15% healing potency buff. It's not like I can pop something to help with, for instance, Garuda HM. I just have to eat her moves and hope my healers can spam me with cures while I slowly get my Wrath back up because I blew it all giving myself a 15% HP cure (that apparently doesn't give me any hate?)

I have to disagree. Pretty much always use your wrath stacks when you've got them (and *not* just on IB), it takes just a few seconds to get them back up without using your off gcd abilities :T Plus you've got infuriate (last one you want to use) and vengeance. On Garuda, you can always use SC as soon as the plumes pop in the first couple phases. Even as an ot I pop defiance on, infuriate, SC to get a lil bit of damage in there while they're grouped together.

Practice your rotations a bit more, try to run with the same healer that gets to know your patterns and you definitely will change your mind about it being a 'terrible pld' .

Thanks for the tips. Switching over from PLD with its single rotation, WAR's ABC,ADE rotation kind of threw me for a loop, especially trying to fit Inner Beast and manage using Vengeance.

The end game is really poorly designed . Not much fun at all tbh . No variety .

Running AK 8x a week sound like fun ?


Coil is on lock out so got to find group that plays when I play etc but I do shift work not the usual 9-5 etc .

Basically if these games want to last they need to be more casual for end game , that is where the money is , Right now I'm starting to look for new game which is sad because I wish I could play this more .

I find it hilarious because my FC is tragically low on damage dealers.
