You don't need to hold onto everything, especially for fishing and cooking.

While I do want a tackle box, most baits at high levels become obsolete and there are many cooking and crafting ingredients that you can just buy cheap from NPC or in some cases, like Table Salt for example, just buy the mats for and quick synth whenever you need it. I only hold onto anything that is relatively difficult to get.

Anything like vegetables/fruits that you usually only need 1 of per synth, are extremely quick and easy to get a lot of, and don't require any crafting to be used in recipes is stuff you should definitely not be hoarding.
