I would rather pay Gil to an NPC in town to redistrubute my points, Tanaka spoke about this originally.

    1) It's a gil sink (most modern MMO's have a skill/stat reset NPC)
    2) There needs to be some form of restriction in that you have to go back to town to reset your stats (perhaps they could add NPC's at the Aethryte to make it more user friendly)

Of course each class should still have their own separate stat profile.

Automatically is the best choice, since we should need to do it to crafter classes and battle classes.
    it should suck a lot.

what ever they chose to do they need to make it way easier to change from one class to another. lot of players want to play multiple classes not just one. other mmo's all uneed to do is log the fuck out and log into u'r other class and bam u got u'r class set up, and hell u might have new people to talk to, more dungeons u can chose to do. this is also another reason other games might do better. i never played wow, just some warhammer for a year, played ffxi for 5years. and i'm sorry playing same class is a no thank you. being stuck going blm to every event is a no thanks, having to spend hours a day changing stats, gears is a no thanks. as is now its not fast enough to change. gotta spend a day to redo stats just not fast enough to pop in and out of different events later, or grind for an hour or 2 and then do event, then a diff event or what ever. flexible on this would make the life of game little more better.

Added new tags for "in development".

I'm going to need a little more info about where they're going regarding stat point allocation before I can comment about the new direction they're taking with this. If it leads to less time having to wait around and respec, then it can't be all bad.

I am very mch for being able to save builds, or stat set ups ffrom class to class. I am not okay with it being usable without some reprocussions. Be that a cool down to the nxt time we are alowed to change or something of that nature. I am not for being able to change from a fully defence build GLD to a full offence build THM to a fully healer built CON andback again at will, But I am okay with doing so every couple of hours.

Why not? It'll let me change my class freely, which is the point of the armory system.

Think about it: if I was able to change my class freely and have my stat/skill/gear loadout change freely with it as well so that it would revert to the state it was in the last time I was that job, how would that be able to be used to exploit the game? I can't think of any. Can you?

I agree on the why not since its not like you can change class mid fight anyway, if you fancy changing class from mob to mob, go ahead, Cant see any reasons you would want to, but if you fancied it, go ahead.

yeah agreed, the opposite though is being stuck using the same class for years and years. for those who like this can, cause the others like me that like using multiple classes can freely change to what is needed or what they are in the mood to play. set the change in stone then make game play according, i don't think there is any exploits that can happen, and if any they can't fix.

Hey everyone, I know you're all excited to see how allocating stats will change in the future! While we can't give away too many specific details, we did confirm with the team that on class rank up the process of allocating points will still be controlled by the player.

Very nice! Dat Opo-opo brings the juicy fruits of info.

I hope that it works well with the incoming stat balancing so that each stat has decent relative importance to the others, depending on what kind of character the player wants to create.

In other words some sort of strategy to minimize the problem we have now of certain stats being useless compared to other stats (like how VIT, MND, and PIE scale linearly in effectiveness, while the other stats have diminishing returns)

Basically, it's the same problem Diablo II has.
