You should be more than geared for both WP and AK in full AF and using at worst a NQ green quality L50 weapon, which should be dirt cheap and will double as your base for melding for your relic quest.

The last quest for the GC was changed to Aurum Vale wasn't it?

Yup, quest has been changed to Aurum Vale. Have to drop the AK quest and get it again. You may want to do that sooner rather then later, because, if I remember correctly, they said that even if you do complete the AK quest for the GC you won't be able to turn it in.

You can start farming WP and CM through DF with your AF gear. I strongly suggest farming WP for your mythology as soon as you hit 50 and can unlock the dungeon. You can also farm ifrit for his weapon. I purchases the madman's whispering rod (NQ) and this worked fine until I turned it in for my relic quest. Then I used a level 44 crafted weapon to farm ifrit with for the cane. Make sure you update your jewelry to the turquoise when you hit level 48. Those pieces will last until you get your DL or find better dungeon drops. You can also get lucky and convert them into the Quicktongue materia 3 you will need for your relic quest.
AK can be healed in your AF gear and the level 55 grand company weapon but I personally found it very difficult to keep a geared party up and wouldn't recommend doing this through DF. However, each of the drops here would be a huge upgrade for you.

The GC weapon is definately an option, but bear in mind it's only ilvl 55. So if the relic pre-req weapon is on the cheap side (I believe the WHM weapon is like, 7k on my server right now?), you might want to just buy one instead and use it. Sure, that means buying a second one for the Relic Quest, but cheap is cheap! (And easier than Aurum Vale)Thanks to all!! Downside with the GC lvl 50 weapon is I need to complete AK before I can unlock the level 50 weapon and I haven't ran AK yet on my other level 50. I'm fate grinding, <not a scrub player, I know how to play I know how to heal>, so I should be level 50 by the end of the weekend. Thanks again for everyone who posted, huge help!

Thanks to all. The GC weapon was actually kinda cruddy. I ended up buying a weapon for 10,500 HQ that smoked the GC weapon. WEnt from 41-50, started Friday night and dinged mid-evening Saturday.
Since then i've already ran WP 3 times, I think that dungeon is fun but I know someone's going to say "talk to me after you've ran it 1000 times". Already got a few upgrades, purchased the belt. Going to move on to my accessories because they're my weakest items. My FC runs AK all day every day and most of us have several lvl 50's so i'm sure i'll be able to get in on those.
Again thanks to all! And Autum vale serioulsy blows.....badly...

As a healer it should be pretty easy to just jump straight into AK. As long as the dps and tank know what they're doing, there's actually not that much damage to heal other than a few trash pulls if they're not done carefully. Let the party know that you're new, and hopefully they'll have enough sense to pull one group at a time (and pull the succubus separately). The boss fights themselves are actually much easier to heal than in WP, IMO. On the last boss you'll have to be quick with esuna when he uses rotten breath, but that has nothing to do with your gear. A successful AK run is all about moving when you're supposed to, and if people don't do it then no amount of healing will help. For me, running AK repeatedly was by far the easiest way to gear up.

Thanks Zappo. I think i'm pretty capable at healing so maybe I will give it a dry run through DF. If i can handle AK might as well run it =)
