well I have seen quite a few videos now in these forums of people being completely out of red circles, the circle then disappearing, and then they get hit by the spell or whatever. is this the 'lack' of dodging skill you are talking about?

but since I am not locked out of the forums yet I will spar a bit more. in my opinion, and just call me totally loony crazy if you like . . . before SE published the game they should have done some kind of research of how data would flow from various places they were planning on marketing the game to their servers. they have at least one previous mmo right? and if they are marketing ffxiv to the same areas as their previous mmo they would have some knowledge of how the data flows? and if you tell me they did not do some kind of research of this type I would then have to call you crazy haha.

when it all comes down, this is my uninformed best guess. from previous mmo experience, SE is taking an educated guess at how fast/slow the game population will change. and perhaps they are trying to hold out for 4-6 months to see what the population is like. then, they will pay for more bandwidth, upgrade servers, etc, in order to serve that population. if they do so now, they stand to lose money as some number of the players will drop off and the extra hardware etc would be wasted.

unfortunately for peeps like me, they expect me to just hang around until they are ready to make these changes and put up with inferior service in the meantime. also unfortunately, for whatever reason, the choices they made have really impacted the initial release of the game in ways I have not seen in other mmo releases.
