Patches With All Bark & No Bite Leaving You Disappointed?

This is the reason why everyone is upset. Why be so misleading? It serves no purpose except to aggravate the players... which is totally happening if you haven't noticed >_>

What is misleading about it? "We might implement content in 1.17b" - they didn't. It served it's purpose- to tell about their possible plans at the time to the community. The opposite of that is what Yoshida has been doing until now- not tell us anything unless he is absolutely certain it'll happen.

But you'll bitch about that too. You only want to hear good news weeks ahead of time. Too bad it's not realistic. Unless you have a crystal ball with you.

Fortunately I do have something like it with me. For months lettered patches have been small. This one is too? That came outta nowhere!

People are like that can't do noting about it the patch was just to add dats and fix a few issue. They should go dig up dats that should keep them busy for a while looking at all the new stuff for next month for at least 1-4days

When was there this so-called "all bark"? honestly? 1.18 is most likely gonna be the big one, lordy...

Sorry, but ill believe it when I see it. I remember being extremely hyped for the patch in november because we were told the november and december patches were supposed to be huge and we were going to be shocked by how much the game would improve.

What did we see in november? A few fixes, maybe a couple recipes and they removed the random sp.

What about december? We recieved a couple nms to do that dropped gear which is very comparable to easier to make normal gear at higher ranks. Also regular crafted gear is arguably better since with this system anything thats not hq is pretty much crap, it can be hard to hq something when you only get 1 or 2 tries. The only great item really was the dodore doublet (oh and all these nms got nerfed to hell).

Then for MONTHS we heard about all these great changes come spring, and were told battle changes/company implementation, what did we recieve in april? That nerf to nms, decrease in party size (good change) party buff (bad change) and a bunch of lowbie nms that respawn every 2 minutes.

I have stayed pretty optimistic since launch, and im not mad about todays patch since this is exactly what I was expecting, even tried warning some friends that this is what it would be. However, I cant take their word for it when they say that "next patch will be awesome" since ive been hearing that for 7 months now and the game is almost exactly the same as launch.

Maybe next month will indeed be this great patch that im waiting for, the game desperately needs it.

Here's another good piece of advice.

Take everything SE tells you at face value.

When I read "we might release content in 17b" I actually hear "lol no I won't."
When I read "we'll be releasing this Summer 2001" I actually hear "So it might go live by Sept 21, but I really mean Oct."

It's been this way for years. I think it's JP culture a little.

When you write clearly and concisely, you leave nothing to interpretation or speculation.

Square Enix needs to go about choosing their words more carefully - especially when dealing with a huge amount of players hanging onto your every word, waiting with bated breath for the next scrap of content.

This was a perfect storm for disappointment.

I agree with this, but I wasn't disappointed because I know what the word "might" means.

I do agree that when fans are waiting and waiting and waiting for ANYTHING, this is not the way to garner their patience or favor - though it does make for a hilarious 3 hours on the forum.
