Silly, you don't need a group to FATE if you're at the appropriate level or above.
But let's blame the game, heh.
You are welcome to that opinion as well. Only time will be able to tell, however the population will drop slowly as new triple A titles are released until some number is reached(I believe SE set that number at about 250k); but this is normal.
This is the problem today, people think that the game should be released with 2 years worth of content. alas people will still blow through it in 2 months. Every launching mmo has little content and the only way to stretch it is by time sinking it. SE chose not to give us a timesink.. be thankfull.
It's declining. I don't even have my relic or darklight gear.
Sounds like you had some bad experiences with the community. That's understandable seeming the endgame scene is pretty heavy with extreme players right now, and a lot of the more casual or social groups aren't exactly caught up, or are doing what you're doing right now - leveling up support classes. Why do I do these things? I had 5 buddies start the game with me. I am now the only one that plays. One moved back to GW2, 2 went back to WoW, another is playing a ton of Steam games and the last one plays most of everything except for FF. I got into an FC but it was horrible. Left it and tried another one and there was nothing interesting going on. Mostly stupid conversation and people insulting people. My experience with the game has been degrading daily. After I completed the main story, there's no direction or focus. I feel I'm playing because I already paid and, somewhat, invested in the game. Maybe this post is my wake up call to just let it go.
You are on Gilgamesh, however. I note it specifically because it is one of the two servers designated by the Roleplayer communities are hub servers. I know it's odd, but perhaps you can talk with some of the Roleplayers and get into a group with them. In my experiences, they tend to be more helpful and laid back on average. They play more slowly, but are fairly more invested in the long term with the game than most, as they tend to generate their own content to entertain themselves in periods of slump of gameplay.
That's not to say that you have to roleplay to get buy in the game. It just seemed like you could use a different tone of community to hang out with, and I've had good experiences with them, to the point of joining them in roleplaying myself.
Unless you are the Amazing Kreskin, you can't know that. Nobody knows whether it will drop or not.the population will drop slowly as new triple A titles are released until some number is reached

Square were hoping for 500K as a base. I suspect the base will be closer to 800K when the dust settles.
I may or may not be part of that base and while I gripe and complain at no point do I want FF14 to fail and I hope the game does well for them. With all my whining about shards and other things I do appreciate the game for what it is. All games slow after launch. It's like opening weekend at a movie. I suspect we will be seeing FF14 for a few years to come.
of course this game is gonna decline after two months, just like i predicted, this game is only gonna last two full months and then people are are gonna remain offline till their remaining subscription ends, at a much faster rate then people buying the game.
such is the fate of all WoWclones.
Funny. I've logged into a queue on my server several times this week.
