and i believe my basic math is correct about melee dps have higher chance.
This is the best laugh I've had in awhile. Thanks.
Firstly, just because we can equip both versions does not mean we want both depending on how we're building. Second, being a melee dps is tough shit in coil (maybe less so on caduceus) if you wanna actually maximize damage and not suck. I love playing drg in there cuz it keeps me on my toes but damn I do a lot and reducing it to "staying at a mobs side and running around AoE's" is putting it very lightly.
Make everything class specific. Profit.
lol how did you get to this conclusion..
What would actually make sense is to 1) make the striking/maiming variants of accessories drop from the same turn and make it impossible for both to drop at the same time.
Or 2) they add in another variant of tanking/healing/casting accessory to balance things up; the only class that shouldnt get a variant of their accessory is bard because they don't compete with any other job for dex gear.
The problem with option 2 is that it would add way too much trash bloat to the loot table, which coupled with the weekly lockout on coil would mean it would take forever to get the gear you want.
If SE wanted to be totally fair with coil loot drops option 1 would be a really good idea IMO.
This thread is full of.......WIN!!!
This is on my list of "Dumbing Fucking Things I've Read on the FFXIV Forums." May have even cracked the top 10, gratz.
