No need to turn off tell. lol
/blist add <r>
Type that in after each tell and you're fine.

At all, the hardvare/software belongs to Square-Enix. And chats as their component. Since the developer / publisher is not entered into any agreements to commit RMT buisnes, this activity can be equated for thievery.
nakipelo...
If we cannot get a blist option by clicking on someones name in the chat channel, can we get a "copy name" option instead. if i can right click > copy name. then that makes it easier to add names to blist without hopefully adding your own friends name.
I am seriously going to beat you until battle tanks pull us apart.
I'm noticing a real slowdown on cancelled accounts inside my blist list. Is SE attacking rmt server by server? At my current rate of blisting I'm getting close to half capacity.
Apperently RMT /tell spam is the new shout.
Just want to say SE really did seem to fix the shout spam for the most part.
Just keep at it and figure out how to stall /tell spam now please. In 3 hours today I have had to blacklist 9 RMT ><;;
Thank you for keeping on them, and don't let up!
Make that 11, another two since I posted this a few minutes ago,
Their operating costs need to be increased and their work as well. This way the business become less profitable per unit of time. So a number of measures need to be taken. There's not a single action by SE that would make them go away.
Characters abilities to communicate should be progressively earned. This way each newly created char would need sometime before it can start pestering.
E.g.
At level 5 character can use /say, can add friends and can send tells to friends
Char level 10 can use /yell
Char level 15 can use /shout and can send tells to anyone.
Limitations are removed when the payment for one month of subscription has been verified.
With this implementation, RMTs would need some time or some form of verified payment before they start spamming instead of using a simple key generator and then being able to create a plethora of accounts at no cost.
If you're referring to the same person sending you an RMT advertisement /tell every second, I've only encountered that once a couple weeks ago. Thankfully hasn't become a norm... yet. I'd imagine that some "companies" realize how overly annoying that is to people, even potential customers.Apperently RMT /tell spam is the new shout.

No, I blacklisted 11 unique RMT names due to /tells today before I logged out. I never get a second message because I /blist them right away. I just don't want to be bothered needing to spend so much time doing that every day.

I have resorted to making a custom chat tab that has /shout and /yell turned off to avoid the rmt spam. It's a shame I had to resort to that as I didn't mind doing melds for people. It's also a shame I have to make a macro to blist rmt tells.
Sure, rmt exists in many mmos but this is the worst I've seen it.
