I don't like doing these things, therefore they are irrelevant in the game.WP - Tomestone grind.
AK - Tomestone grind.
CM - Storyline Dungeon.
Praetorium - Storyline Dungeon.
Primals - This can be considered End-game. Until relic.
Chimera - For Relic Quest mob.
Darkhold - Promotion quest.
AV - Side content you can generally skip if it you transitioned over from 1.0 and not doing relic.
Cape Westwind - Write in full detail why would I do this of my freewill after beating it if not to help people?
Hydra - Relic quest, skippable otherwise.
Coils - The actual only true end-game currently.
Crafting - Not content
GC - Not content
Guildleves - You can in a semantics kind of way consider it content but there's no substance to it - it's a mean to an end.
"Content" broken Down so please take off your fanboy blinders and see the truth
1 raid
2 sub par dungeons
That's the bottom line![]()

I'm thinking it might be more like "These things do not give my character any measurable progress in the game the way a DoW/DoM do (plot/dungeon unlocks, etc)" - I can be the best crafter on the server, but I'll never go anywhere or do anything the game considers noteworthy.

Well, that comes down to a matter of opinion. Some people have different mindsets as to what is "noteworthy" and whatI'm thinking it might be more like "These things do not give my character any measurable progress in the game the way a DoW/DoM do (plot/dungeon unlocks, etc)" - I can be the best crafter on the server, but I'll never go anywhere or do anything the game considers noteworthy.
isn't. A lot of people play for the sole purpose of crafting, and their sense of accomplishment comes from getting all of
them maxed out and crafting HQ items and making 200 million gil. Others may not think so, which is fine.
Doesn't mean it's flat out "not content" in the game. It is content.![]()
The term "noteworthy" is subjective.I'm thinking it might be more like "These things do not give my character any measurable progress in the game the way a DoW/DoM do (plot/dungeon unlocks, etc)" - I can be the best crafter on the server, but I'll never go anywhere or do anything the game considers noteworthy.
I don't mean from a personal point of view but from the game's - DoW/DoM see new places, meet new people, have visions of the past and basically save the entire nation as they level up and when they're done everyone gathers together and cheers for them - a CUL gets...? Where does a FSH get to go that a WAR can't? What great achievement does a BTN perform?

Some people are not interested in the accolades. Some people want to be rich, and when they have a giant personal house that will be their payoff. Yes I do it for the story and love DoW/DoM, but as far as DoL/DoH the payoff will be when I get my giant gold hammer hanging on my back (yes I know the stats are the same as quested), but it's an achievement thing. Some people prefer it that way.
Yes, right now there can be precious little to do if you don't want to level second classes or level crafting/gathering, but to assume that everyone shares the same idea of "noteworthy" or that everyone cares about the main story line's idea of success....well to assume that is just folly.
That's not my point. My point has nothing to do with what you or anyone else *personally* feels about Hand/Land, I'm saying that *the game*, at this point, doesn't treat those classes as anything more than second-class nobodies, just something to fill time and pootle around with before you switch back to DoW/DoM.

How can they be second class nobodies when the whole economy is revolved around those classes? That's not my point. My point has nothing to do with what you or anyone else *personally* feels about Hand/Land, I'm saying that *the game*, at this point, doesn't treat those classes as anything more than second-class nobodies, just something to fill time and pootle around with before you switch back to DoW/DoM.
Maybe your right, but there are a lot of people interested in housing which will be a boon to the crafting gathering classes. The may never make it into the main story, but they are an integral part of the game and community. I personally do not see it as a big deal they are not in the main story, but to each his own. We may just have to agree to disagree on this one.
Oh and I have 3 lvl 50 DoW/DoM, but not a single DoL/DoH level 50 so that's where my priorities lie, but I enjoy branching out for variety and achievement and do not want to limit it to a single aspect of the game. I see people that only enjoy one aspect and for those people it will be a rough time between patches. I have been grinding gear for MNK, BRD, and WHM. It can get old, but when it does I mine, craft, or work on leveling my chocobo.
