Not really complaining. I said the story was so bad that I am choosing not to continue with it. I had to accept the harsh alternative to endgame, which happens to be mining ore.

Each primal used to have a stand alone quest line that one would complete in order to unlock it.

Each primal fight (except the Moogle King) needed to unlock with grand company missions in the right order.
You couldn't just kill Ifrit (hard) without finishing the Ifrit (easy) mission. You couldn't start Garuda (easy) mission without finishing the GC mission before it (the one with the deus ex machina if I remember it right).

horrible story is in place, my life no longer includes slaying massive beasts and taking their treasure. bad story button mashing through walls of text and completing fetch quests.

So now there is nothing to do except mine ore.
