Ugh, so true! When I hit 50 my friend had some 1 star crafted gear for me and it looked HORRIBLE. And from what I've seen of the allagan armor...
Whoa, chill man there's no need to get like that. No, I was just asking if my current gear was good enough to even attempt it or not. Do you find it fun farming AK/WP literally 200 times for 20k tomes though? Highly doubtful.
Mostly thinking from the WHM perspective, to start Coil, I think the following would be "safe" contribution in Turn 1 and Turn 2.
HP 3200+
Relic with Mind 440+ OR Relic +1 with Mind 415
Thaumaturge's Swiftcast
And from a white mage perspective, that should be enough to get you through Turn 1 and 2, statistically speaking if working with iLevel 70 geared Paladin relic tanks.
So, essentially the same gear you would need for Titan, just with your Relic? I was talking to a few people in game who all said to get full darklight or equal gear, but they also told me that's only if I'm trying to clear turn 4.Mostly thinking from the WHM perspective, to start Coil, I think the following would be "safe" contribution in Turn 1 and Turn 2.

I am chill. You literally told me that the advice I was giving you was not in tandem with the question you asked, when it was. I corrected you by reiterating your own question.Ugh, so true! For full DL gear it is literally less than 50 runs. With the gear you currently have that is around 30 runs. If you do WP with a shout group you can get that many tomes in less than 10 hours tops. This isn't hard. It's not rocket science. It just requires some work ethics.
I would say the recommended stats for Titan would be lower, e.g. iLevel 52-60 gear, spell damage 59 staff, etc. But with weaker gear, requires tighter playing with the whole party. The more you have, the more breathing room you will be afforded and with enough room, can respond to mistakes and/or looser party play.

WHM need slightly better gear than a SCH. SCH have better and more mana efficient single target heals if they force their pet to heal with them and use cooldowns correctly. Turn 1 and 4 requires both to do some st healing on each tank. The WHM has to take care of aoe heals in turn 2 and last phase of 4, so they need massive mana, while the scholar will stay on the tank.
If you're a scholar, you can get away with relic and on avg ilvl 60 gear. WHM needs to have full DL mainly for mana issues and +1 to have an easier time on tank healing solo.
This is just my personal experience though. I did not have full DL or relic+1 when i started and had no problems keeping my tank up. I just had to really use all my skills with little room for error.

Alright, thanks for all the advice guys. I won't bother trying until I have all iLvl 70 pieces.
Vech, this game isn't a job and I don't need "work ethics" in a game. I have plenty of dedication, leveling all my classes (including two crafting classes) to 50 without leves or fates, AND getting my Luminary Pick through the achievement. So don't go judging people. For full DL maybe it's only 50 runs - lol, I love how 50 runs is "only" - but full Vanya is 19k tomes, which is 190 runs. That's not a matter of "work ethics" but mind numbing boredom.
Stop treating this game like a job and try having fun for a while.
If you have a static Coil party, it might still be worth going in for exposure to see how far you can push your current gear setup. As your experience grows as does your party's synergy, you may start to notice the bottlenecks in both gear and play styles to let you tighten up.
