it seems to more or less work like this. If you jump, the server doesn't update your position until you land. So jumping actually hinders your ability to dodge, even though some people have this instinct to jump out of AoEs.Jumping used to be a problem in WoW, not sure about here however, in WoW the problem was, if you jumped out of an AoE, if you didn't make a command after you landed (running counted as a command) after you landed, you were still registered at the point in which you jumped. Meaning there was a slight delay on the update of exiting an AoE. I would probably suggest avoiding the tendency of jumping until it's confirmed how it works by MLG pro elitists. I find myself doing it a lot too, but remember it also slows your ability to react if something else happens while you're in the air... seeing as you can't change direction of your running until you land.
Here's an interesting tool to see how fast you can react.

Remember, moving out of AOE red zone takes time too, let's assume another 0.5 second is needed for the movement. Add that to your reaction time, and you'll see how much connection delay you're able to tolerate.
Mine is embarrassing 250 millisecond (0.25 second)
*ADS laser is 1 second cast*
15 tries
SE if you don't fix this, I am done with your game

Interesting! Mine was 235 average after 5 clicks. Still behind the average >>Here's an interesting tool to see how fast you can react.

Judging on the ping, I'm guessing she's in EU or SEA/AU. Funny how SE fails to actually support half their target markets. I have FC members from SEA playing the game that have to set up a VPN/tunnel just to get their connection to be passable, and still get 90k'd frequently at end game. Great players, and assuming they aren't lying their ISPs are among the best their countries have to offer, but because of a lack in foresight and coordination between marketing and network infrastructure they're stuck with a game that's only half-playable.
*Note: many SEA players have equal difficulty connecting to Japanese servers, and for those that may see a slight improvement are alienated because of the language barrier (i.e. English is widely spoken, Japanese is not).

I feel your pain mate, this reason is exactly why i won't be subscribing for another month. Before anyone says me to fix my lag or computer, i have a 250mbit upload and 250mbit download optical fiber line, my ms in wow is not higher then 35 playing from Latvia. I have a computer of capable running this game with 40 fps in a crowded town. And yet, i still get these occasional hits, which really are totally demoralising, some of my fc members has already quit, we are tired of wipes because of this thing and i'm going the same way. I leave those who say they have no issues to play this game in a peace, but those who have issues, don't waste your nerves, i highly doubt anything will change here.

Play Better!!!!! sometimes I get this feeling in my head when I play like a scrub/plebeian and I just tell my self if I play better, and maybe my party will be able to get to Coil 5 so we can all have fun, so I usually swallow the lag/ms issue instead of crying about it, and improve on foresight skills a little to overcome the challange.
I will play better...
Another game.

1) ADS' moves are always cast in the same order.
2) ADS resets its move order after absorbing a node.
These two facts will let you predict when piercing laser is about to happen and dodge it with 100% success. Spend more time learning the fight and less time qq'ing on the forums.
disable flying text. problem solved. your welcome.
