$25 for a toon transfer?

Uh, I think that's actually what they're doing....

They have scheduled patches for every 3 months, each introducing new content, and Yoshi has already finished the storyline for the next expansion and handed it to the dev team responsible.

So, no complaints necessary, they're doing what you hope they're doing.

EDIT: And I read the rest of the thread after replying. So this isn't really a complaint about the fee, or what you think they should be doing, it's that you're mad you missed the free window. Got it. Moving right along.

So going to assume you were one of the few that decided not to play during the last week and not look at any of the news. You had a week of free transfers to make use of not having to pay anything, not Square's fault you decided not to play and transfer off when you had the chance.

Eh, don't know what all the attacks are for, $25 does seem a bit steep just to jump from one server to another. Some servers were still too crowded during free transfer to get on to. So months or so down the road when the servers are a lot quieter and I want to move an alt to the same server as my main, I think it's valid to say that $25 is a bit much.

Like me, I don't think the OP is saying there shouldn't be a fee, just that $25 seems like a lot on top of the subscription we're already paying. Frankly I wouldn't mind a ticket type system where everyone is allowed one free transfer and then has to pay after that. Of course it would have to be implemented after stronger anti-RMT measures are in place, but still...

I mean yes, Blizzard and a few other companies do it, but even to them I question why? You get money from subscriptions, crystals, and probably soon cash shops. Why do you insist of making the community pay 25 dollars for a transfer?

I feel to any company who charges more than 10 dollars for a transfer is a ripoff. But then again, everyone is trying to make a quick buck. I just hope you use the money for more content later on this year.

It's a term that has been synonymous with character since the early days of RPG's that people seem to get their panties in a bunch over for the past 10 years or so on video game forums.

There were actually a lot of reasons to not transfer when they were free. I.E. you might be in a goodish FC, or the server might have been healthy before transfers, etc. etc.

I know Lamia is much less populated after the transfer. I'm reasonably happy with the server right now, but if my FC left the game I would be screwed. When they offered free transfers, a huge portion of the server transfered to presumably more populous servers.

I don't like the idea that if I ever have to leave my FC (e.g. due to people quitting or time conflicts) that I would have to spend $25 to get off of what is starting to feel like a dead server.

P.S. I agree that $25 is an outrageous price for transfers.

In FFXI in 9 years I moved my main character 1 time. RL friends where no longer RL friends and I didn't want to play with them anymore.
My hubby and I switched servers. Note my RL friends didn't approve of my Hubby so it's why we moved.

25 dollars, bah, internationally that's chump-change comparing it to the Yen. You can also just create a new "character", "Avatar" aka "Toon".
