Please see the post I am quoting from above that I posted YESTERDAY.
you can bet that SE will change that policy sooner or later if we keep making sure they know we are bothered by it.
that being said, I still think someone needs to make a wall of shame website. with a fancy url so everyone remembers to check it daily, too.
I have already blacklisted a few leechers that happened to be on my server (I always check on the lodestone and keep a personal list just in case), but it's not enough -.-
I HOPE the MVP system won't even be needed anymore by the time 2.1 comes out and 'these people' will have lost interest in the game and moved on. part of me really wants TESO to come out faster so some of them leave, hopefully for good -.-
I don't get how people can be this lame.
-Is it a boring mindless grind no one wants to do? Yes.
-Would it be nice to get it done without actually doing anything? Yes
-Does that make it right for us having someone else do it for us, without even having their compliance on it? ABSOLUTELY NO.
-Should we do it then? Of course not. Unless, the people you are running with agree to it. But it's still pretty stupid, If you just can't take the grind, then maybe you don't deserve the gear, seeing how everyone who has it had to go through it, no reason to make special cases.
AFKing in a dungeon is ok, if you really had to, but honestly, you should try to avoid it if possible, ofc a random 2 minutes afk cause something happened or you really had to go bio or something is ok. But you should try to let the party know at least, and if possible if you dont really have to, have them agree on it, obviously some jerks will be jerks, but a lot of people aren't like that really.
-Why should it be avoided? Because we are all in there and want to get the things done! And it's not just your personal time in play but also the one of all the other party members.
It's all just a matter of respect for the others really. A moral thing. :/
I cannot quote it, as I don't really wanna go back looking into it trying to find it, but one of the representative guys on the forum, yes those with yellow background and different pictures, said their development team was looking into the possible implementation of a VTK (vote to kick) system.
EDIT:
Well, that was actually really easy and fast ^^ I kinda remembered the guy's avatar picture or however you wanna call it.
So here's the quote.
Derp, edit again: I forgot to clarify that this was a while ago which you can check by following the quote. And I believe they might have said a thing more about it, but nothing major. Just wanted to clarify that this is old and may not be valid anymore. Anyway, have a nice day.Hello,
From a technical standpoint, it wouldn't be very difficult to have a vote to kick feature for the Duty Finder, and we are planning to implement this.
However, as there is the concern that it could be used maliciously to get rid of players that groups do not like, we are working hard to create a system that reduces the chances for problems to occur. Due to this, we are continuing to look into the feature, as well as whether we will implement this in patch 2.1.

Sounds to me like the problem is in the GM System.
Clearly vote kick has possible issues.
Clearly the MVP system will have no effect on those that want to AFK and gain free rewards.
Clearly there are a number of means to get around automated AFK detection. (maybe)
You should be able to petition a GM and actually have them do something about it in a timely manner.
This activity should be documented.
Repeated offenders should be banned.
There's not much more to say here.
Here's an automated AFK detection idea though:
Detect damage dealt/healed and yalms traveled. If either of these fall below a specific threshold for a certain amount of time...
Boom you're out!
People will still troll, but I think the issue here will be encountered far less.
a filter system will put rage quiters with rage quiters >griefers with griefers and so on >problem with duties is the heavy wait time via DF >im a DPS so it takes average 30+ minutes to find me a duty via DF > now people are selling runs WTH is this community turning into wall street?
Heres a breakdown what ive seen > 2 weeks ago people did AK got through it > farmed tomes> got full DL gear>became elitest>still do AK runs to troll (leave as soon as they see someone with 1 DL gear piece and primal weapon > somehow bypass the DF 15m lockout !!
something needs to be done against griefers/trolls
I am going to be refusing to continue groups I see afk'ers in from now on. I'm tired of these people.
To the other people in groups I have to leave because of this, I do apologize and I really don't mean to make it worse on you. Don't blame me, blame the AFK'er and SE for not having something to fight this.
Canada will rule the world with a green thumb, instead of an iron fist.
Yeah I have to agree, while we can clear it with 1 tank. I feel that its not fair to keep giving that leech free tomestones. I typically have everyone in the group report them then we all quit and rejoin. Stinks that one of the innocent people has to eat a 15 minute lock out, but its far better to have 1 innocent person wait 15 minutes then 1 guilty person abusing the fact that tanks get instant queues and can basically afk all they want because there is no punishment.
Why do you guys just not run WP or AK? They both offer the same amount of philosophy, and WP can be run just as fast or faster than CM.
The problem with the 8 man story dungeons is that one person can typically be carried. In 4 mans that can't happen.
