I hope he wasn't trolling, but I did an experiment. I switched to number 2 to help him burn down mob faster. But then he always switched to number 1. So we NEVER attack the same mob. He paid close attention if I switch, then he switched to the other one, genuinely thinking it's his responsibility to take care of the mob that is "unattacked by dps".

Heh guess I'll repost mine, this time with more details so I won't be called a 'crappy tank'

So I'm in a df group in AK on my war (af2chest,head, 'ruda axe etc), got lucky enough to get two dds with glowing relics and a whm. Get to the wall, no problem. Attempt a burn since we were geared for it, whm gets knocked off, it was close. No one says much, just a 'my bad' and a 'np'. Ask whm to go cleric's stance for a quicker burn, no reply, doesn't use the stance. So we burn it without LB or whm dd (an aero 1 here and there, that's it), wall has a little over an inch of health when adds spawn, I ignore them and burn the wall pulling out all the stops. Kill the wall, everyone's still alive...

edit: notice this is said after we beat the wall...

So I take a couple mins to report this guy, he's still cursing in chat.

Me: well, gl finding another tank then, I don't have to put up with your harassment

I go to leave, but one of the dd spoke up and pretty much said 'hey don't screw us over man, we didn't do jack', so I mulled it over and didn't leave, went on to clear the dungeon with pt chat off. I apologized to the dd before I left. And that's it.

Lol my story... again:

It was during a Darkhold run I was healing on SCH, and it was going to be the last thing I did for the night before I wanted to go to sleep. So I just suffered through our terri-bad tank dying all the time to trash and bosses. Finally make it to the final boss and the tank has died 5 times so far... (again idk why the DD's didn't notice this sooner, me? Well I was sleepy... excuse? probably lol)

Tank: "Idk why I keep dying guys."
Me: "You're an MP sponge for me, you take 1 hit and half your life is gone..."
BRD: "Nothing really too wrong with your gear, a few whites, but mostly greens and pinks and properly lvld idk?"
DRG: "I think I know why guys.... your a MRD..."
Me&BRD: "....."
Tank(MRD): "Is that bad?"
BRD&DRG: "Yeah..."
Tank: "I was going to unlock WAR as soon as I hit 50"
All of us: "You don't need to hit 50 to unlock your job..."
Tank: "Oh you don't?"
Me: "Haven't you done any of your class quests?"
Tank: "What are class quests?"
BRD & DRG leave the party.

Not in party, but I was in Gridania advertising my melding services (all crafts, no fees, tips appreciated). Shortly after, someone else advertises (all crafts, no fees or tips cause they're that awesome). I think to myself, wow, that's very nice of them, can't compete with that. So I decide to just move to another zone.

Later, I'm in that zone doing some melds, and I see that SAME person asking for a lvl 50 armorsmith to help craft something.

ME: Weren't you shouting earlier that you were lvl 50 all crafts?
Other Crafter: Yeah I was just trolling someone earlier.
ME: ...
ME: Yeah that was me.
Other Crafter: ...
Other Crafter: Oh [poop]!
Other Crafter: So you wanna help make something for me?
ME: ...
ME: Ok that was pretty funny troll whatcha need made just bring me the mats.

And then when I was grouped with her suddenly there was like 15 should for melds needed and I made more gil then I ever have and a new friend =D

Me: Hey, ARC, want to try attacking mobs in the order the tank is marking them? It would make healing the party much less frantic.
ARC: lol its low level dungeons nothing here will kill me
Me: So be it, you're on your own. I'll focus on healing the tank instead. Tank? Don't bother trying to pull off the ARC.
ARC: lol ok

Gigas bursts out of the wall on the last leg of the dungeon. ARC starts attacking it. Dies.

ARC: WTF U FKIN NOOB Y DINT U HEAL ME
Me: I thought you said nothing could kill you?
ARC: FK U
ARC has left the party.

Tanks do realize that holding agro is their job right?

Depends on the situation. For instance, on the Demon Wall fight in AK, dds normally tank left add for a few secs while they lb, tank grabs right and holds it until left is down. But if you're burning it down, there shouldn't even be adds that spawn, and if they do, a tank pulling them would just put less dps on the boss and therefore giving the pt more of a chance to wipe due to repel, etc. Heck on the first boss in AK, dds tanking golem adds is the accepted strategy amongst a large amount of the people doing it. On the last boss I don't even think it would be possible for a tank to successfully hold adds and the main boss without wiping the party with a tail swipe and breathe attacks...

Learn to adapt more, its really needed for later on.

He did, I actually stayed with him and 2 new DD's and after the group was over I told him where he needed to go and what he needed to do. It was funny and sad (impo) to me at the time.
