I'm pretty much in the same boat. If there's no response then I'll be done with the game when my month subscription runs out in a few weeks.
They advertise what you can get, but you have to take your location into consideration when dealing with providers, since it can make a difference for your actual received performance in terms of internet speeds. I'd still contact them though, since that difference is pretty large.
7Mb upload is overkill for most home users. 1Mb is just fine for any game out there. Hell... I used to run a 25 man Minecraft Server on a 2Mb upload.

reply to thread (with useless info blaming players yet again for lag) w/o reading op... golden......Ya i end up not reading the full wall of text just saw the lag part was just trying to see if the problem could be her/his internet/Computer or even the fact that she/his may live very far from the data center. It's like if i try doing titan in JP data center i'm sure i lag and have issue.
Ummm, you do know that FFXIV uses less the 5 kBps (that's 0.039 Mb/s) upload while playing right? Hell, downloading is less then 10 kBps, and that's only in very crowded areas with lots of people doing something. People can just stop posting their D/U speed tests because it just does not matter in playing this game. Anyone on a broadband connection, by definition, has more then enough bandwidth to handle this game.
Your connection quality for this game is going to come from your ping to server (not the ping you get from some local speed test), packet loss, and jitter.

Exactly. I didn't have any of this shitty lag until they added new servers a month ago. Before that the game was great. Even during the awful release week where we had issues logging in, once in the game I had no lag issues, and I've played with both WoW and FF14 open with my same 1Mbps upload with no problems.Ummm, you do know that FFXIV uses less the 5 kBps (that's 0.039 Mb/s) upload while playing right? But let me say this again because I know people don't like to read much:
my lag issues started when more servers were added a month ago, before that the game was great even during the awful release week, so please stop asking to run speedtest, nothing else lags but FF14 and TWC is horrible and I wish I could get FIOS, but it's not available on my neighborhood for some dumb reason.

Also, I have 12 days left in my subscription, so things better get fixed withing the next two weeks or I'll have to kiss my catgirl goodbye for the following months.I really want to play this game, but this horrible costumer service and apparent inability to fix this problem any time soon just turns me off.
Greetings Arthemisa,
It seems that there have not been any further posts about this concern being an ongoing issue. Because of this, we are considering it to be resolved. If this does continue
to be a concern, please create another thread to further try to discuss resolutions or contact the Support Center at support.na.square-enix.com for assistance.
