I'm satisfied with the game, there are a few things I am disappointed with (such as Crystal Tower being pushed back in the first place) but I am hoping with 2.1, 2.2, etc SE will make up for that. I'm still trying to get everything leveled, so I at least still have something to work towards aside from Coil.

You can do almost everything in this game solo. Why not play a single player game at that point?

Are we playing the same game? How the hell you're doing everything solo? You beat all the dungeons by yourself? If you're trying to say noone talks in groups, that's the problem with the people and not the game isnt it?

That's the point of an mmorpg. You play together with other people. Modern mmorpgs have ruined what it meant to be an mmo. You can do almost everything in this game solo. Why not play a single player game at that point? It seems people today just want some Diablo clones with a chat box.

FFXI was a near perfect experience at NA launch. And CoP made it pure perfection.

You conveniently left out the part of that quote where I said I tried seeking help and getting groups only to find the community terrible, hateful, and unhelpful. The needing to group thing was only a problem because the community was god awful.

I was here for the long haul since 1.0, and they lost me due to the problems it had. They got me back with what they added, especially the story content, and ARR is no different.

Even if I complete the story content, I'm not going to stop playing, because I can be entertained by player-driven content as well as game content. This doesn't work for everyone and I acknowledge it. However I encourage those who do want to entertain their downtime to at least try it out.

I have plenty to keep me occupied, not even touching the endgame. Contrary to common opinions here, I'm glad the treadmill on endgame content is the way it is, so it does not dominate all of my time in game.

I do wish there was more in the way of minigames and other distractions, but I know these are pending. There is plenty to keep me occupied in the meanwhile (3+ Characters to level multiple combat and crafting jobs to 50, not including any endgame activity they may participate in. Player-Driven content, seasonal events for all 3 characters.)

Are there anything besides dungeons that you do as a group? I mean as a personal group that you intentionally form. So that doesn't include FATEs. Dungeons are a pretty small part of the game. With that ONE exception of dungeons the game heavily encourages solo play for everything. There's no major benefit for grouping in anything. That's what made FFXI so special. It took a lot of effort and time to do things and it strongly encouraged party play for literally everything. You can't even do your main story missions as a party in this game. How can you even call the game an mmo at that point?

The community was amazing and helpful to me. I got every question of mine answered instantly. I was in many social linkshells that were always extremely helpful.

I left that part out because I wasn't addressing that part with my reply.

It's weird, between my wife, kids, work and getting my MBA, theres almost no time for me to play. So when I see people complaining about the content, I'm like, " You people must not do anything else!"

How does anyone have time to do everything in this game already and be bored?! You got to put life into perspective.........

really so you have to level every gathering class to max to know how incredibly tedious they are?
you need to level all jobs to 50 to know the endgame has NO none nada purpose beyond grinding for equipment.or that the quests are pretty much 1/10th of what they should have been at launch.
you need to level all the crafts to 50 to know the crafting system is about as useless as they could possibly have made it if they were trying to.
there being stuff still not completed does not mean whats left to do is in any way attractive.

It's all right. Not many things to do when compared to other MMOs at launch, but it's pretty fun.
