Ended up healing as SCH for my second Brayflox run back at level 36 or so. I got paired with three guys from a FC on another server, one of whom was new to the dungeon also. Bear in mind I played SMN and RDM in XI for like 9 years, so I know how to heal a party.
We started off slow with the others more or less ignoring me or referring to me as "heals" when they wanted something. I remember the tank was this bat-crazy Taru PLD. I about fell asleep during the first couple rooms and the Pelican. Then the PLD says "okay heals, I trust you. We're picking up the pace!" So I stuck to him like glue and he started speedkill chaining mobs 4 and 5 at a time. NOW I was alert and throwing Adlo and Cure all over the place, keeping everyone well out of the danger zone and we absolutely FLEW through the level. By the time we got to Aiatar they were using my name and we were chatting like old friends.
Aiatar wiped us several times, mostly due to laggy AOE hits. We were down to about 12 minutes and the tank was sticking up for me. "Never seen a SCH that could heal through 4 stacks of poison before. You're the most crazy-awesome heals I've ever F-ing seen" and so forth. They wanted to end the run since they didn't think we could clear the boss, but I suggested we stay til time-out and keep going for the new guy, so they agreed. On the next go we beat him, got the new guy his clear, and the Battlemage Robe I was looking for dropped in the boss chest and they all passed it for me.
I'd never wished harder for a cross server friends list.

So, before we start I'd like to say WHM is my main class, what I gear up above all else. However, after getting my WHM relic I decided to go snag the SCH one as well, since it'd also be well geared (Lucked out and got the garuda tome). Got to Titan alright, but I was feeling a little shaky. I'm used to my WHM hotbar, I keep wanting to regen the tank, and I never feel like I know what to do with my fairy.
Thankfully, I'm running with an FC group that knows what they're doing. Unfortunately, shortly after the heart phase our WHM suffers a lag spike and gets hit with landslide. Seems we may have to wipe, but I decide to tough it out, do my best at healing, and try for more practice. Eventually, we do wipe... and that's when I looked at Titan's HP. We got the bastard to 10% with me solo healing through the hard part on a job that's not even my main! Never felt so happy after a wipe in my life.
Oh, and we did beat him in the end.
Party didn't wipe, boss died.
Job complete.

One time I like healed a guy.. And then he like lived and stuff.. And then I walked away I think...
NA I'm just playing. We'll I guess my healer story is alittle different kuz it happend in 1.0
So I was fighting ifrit with some people I never met. About halfway through the fight the other whm dies and I'm the only one keeping the tank alive and healing the party and trying to keep enmity to a minimum. I pulled out all the stops, had to dodge cracks, raised a person or 2. Keep in mind, this was back when ifrit was actually hard if you didn't know what you were doing. Oh and no one else in the party could raise the other whm so he stayed dead the whole fight. But basically I kept everyone alive and got us the win and apparently they had a parser running and saw my healing numbers were something crazy high. I don't remember the number but after that they all said I was a crazy good whm and invited me to their linkshell. In 2.0 they made it a FC and I've been with them ever since.
By far one of my most memorable experiences in 1.0
Hey - I am conj and am nervous of going any further than lord of the inferno (don't even want to start that!) - I seem to be having a lag and I got loads of abuse on my last dun. I actually changed world and started again as some woman from a fc was rude and horrid - I play on a PS3. I moved from Shiva to Odin. I need to join a FC that actually does things - the last one I was in did nothing. So now I am a nervous reluctant scared healer who just harvests all of the time. Any suggestions pls?!
I solo healed Garuda HM.
/thread.
Only two moments where I have walked away thinking "Damn, that was some sweet ass healing I just did" and that was two healing Titan HM and Downing Turn 4 of Coil. The healing requirements for those fights and the ability to mana manage and aggro manage in Turn 4 really go a long way to making you feel like you know what you are doing. Really enjoyed both of those fights tremendously.

I was DFing HM Titan to get some practice in, I was still wearing my AF chest, and was still using some lvl 49 accessories. We actually had a decent group, made it through the heart phase multiple times but things just kinda fell apart shortly after. People aren't used to passing it so they panic a bit I guess and I can't heal oneshots. But I felt pretty awesome when the warrior was like, "we'd appreciate some esunas after the gaols but we totally understand that you're solo healing". As the other healer was repeatably landslided or killed in some form early on where I couldn't raise them without people dying and we didn't have a summoner. It was exhilarating.
Last night one I took 2 dps that needed some tomes and filler gear to AK, and we got a great Pug Warrior for it. That had to have been one of the smoothest runs I've ever had and really instilled confidence in my healing. The warrior was practically chain pulling, thankfully waiting a second if I didn't have swiftcast up for stoneskin between pulls. I know people do speed runs all the time, but when pug tanks have confidence in my abilities to power through things is when I feel really good.
