Then you really need a boring game if it'd make you quit... Jumping is soooo gamebreaking lol people crack me upTRUTH. In every game I've seen that has it, people are springing all over the place like frogs. I feel embarrassed for them whenever I see it. I can't stand to look at it very long. It's even worse when it's in combat. Biggest immersion breaker ever. If FFXIV had free jumping I'd probably have to quit. I don't think I'd be able to role-play anymore.
Being sick at home all the time I need an escape and I like to think of XIV as a place not a game. People springing all over the place kind of kills that for me.
and thats understandable
yet at the same time, they are complaining that it isnt super high priority like its the only thing that can save this game in the world(eva)
we know jumping will come eventualy, wether people want it or not
its a damn moot point at this time yet people are still arguing like they can influence wether or not it comes
its coming, the anti jump people need to accept that
itl take a long time to come because its obviously not a priority, and the pro jump people need to accept that

Jump implementation won't automatically allow for that. I can create a java game where you can jump but I can guarantee unless I specifically design it as such, you won't have a true use for it other than a jump key.

You just don't want other people to be happy do you? Man sister, you are just one boring person. Like Thevedis said, you are going to have to accept that it is most likely going to happen just like auto-attack happened and I'm accepting it... Even though I didn't want it to begin with

People just really don't get that being able to Jump doesn't add anything to the game unless they specifically design it to have a use which most MMOs with a jump mechanic has no use for it other than the ability to jump - So much so that people's only conclusion is it makes you "travel faster" because there's no real use for it.You just don't want other people to be happy do you? Jumping over terrain? Won't happen unless they remove every collision detection because all you do while jumping is having an animation for scaling over terrain - XIV already does this without said animation. It's like people think you just plop down a feature and everything else follows, when in reality it's reversed - you need to design a use for it THEN implement the trigger.

You know I thought about the collision walls. But I didn't even consider the NEW platforms that would have to be added for things that are too big to jump in one bound. They would have to add some sort of traction for slopes. So you can accomplish those idiotic narrow wall climbs many games let you do by jumping incessantly.People just really don't get that being able to Jump doesn't add anything to the game unless they specifically design it to have a use which most MMOs with a jump mechanic has no use for it other than the ability to jump - So much so that people's only conclusion is it makes you "travel faster" because there's no real use for it.
