Oh hey it's the same exploit that can be used on every single mob in the game and the core reason they keep taking turn 5 down in coil.

You can do the same thing at Svara.. as far as I'm concerned it's only an exploit if you used 3rd party hacks to reach higher ground.
The fix would be to have npc attacks extend vertically.
bump so a mod can shed some light
The most beautiful man to grace the Final Fanty, attractive and goodlooking girls please send me a message in game. Must be attractive and goodlooking. Thanks.

I'm also curious to know whether or not people should be using the pillar. It seems that all non ranged players wouldn't benefit from this at all. Only way for non ranged players to benefit is to get in a party with a ranged player.
Also recall that in AK, the tree exploit was fixed too. So it's plausible that this can be considered an exploit.

Why is the fact that hes a ranged user, standing on higher ground to protect himself such a big deal to you? Honestly, if you can climb up there, and attack, then guess what, YOU'RE DOING NOTHING WRONG. If Square doesn't want you to climb on that stuff, they'd make it impossible for you to get on top of it. Unless he using hacks, or abusing a glitch to get up there, hes not doing anything wrong.
So sick of all this crap about everything being a damn exploit. This one is even dumber then one about how the guy was using sleeping on enemies in order to run past them so he didn't have to fight them.

"And this is why we can't have nice things."It's not like they used some illegal 3rd party hack utility to put themselves there. They used the terrain to make the fight more advantageous. Look at call a duty? or any other pvp style game where you have to stay alive to win. I do not see anything wrong with this and if you tend to play PVP in this game get used to using the terrain to stay alive. That is what it is there for. Reporting this only makes the game more vanilla and stifles ppl's ability to show ingenuity. Man oh man.
Really, how do you even begin to justify that this isn't an exploit???

U ever thought maybe they didnt know this path exist. It why the tree in AK was fixed. It same reason people fall through the floor. Someone missed something. U know good and will your not to make it up there. Why is the fact that hes a ranged user, standing on higher ground to protect himself such a big deal to you? Reference to this. The tree was an area to you were able to jump to and not get hit, and as a result it got patched.
Terrain exploits are exploits. Anyone who says otherwise is either trolling or an idiot. If the mob can't fight back normally, it's an exploit. Anyone who played FFXI remembers the Wall of Justice that kept AV from attacking, or the height advantage from that one dragon NM in Abyssea, both got patched fairly quickly.
