Go ahead and unsub, I'll be in game and in full AF2 on two classes when you come back.

And that restriction was there because of how ps2 technology(and older mmo tech) was, they were not capable of constantly upgrading the game with content with how restrictive the ps2 was with an external hd(also the fact that the game is older than WoW and games before that went with expacs to release all their new content, WoW was one of the first to actually have it in patches). If you've only been playing 11 the last 10 years then you've missed out on a lot of changes that have happened with mmos over the years, things changed drastically when WoW came out and showed newer mmos they had a standard to set when they required a subscription.

This isn't WoW's dev team. Did WoW give a content expansion after a month of release? If not, then I'm pretty sure I wouldn't expect FFXIV to throw it out that fast if other MMO's haven't.And that restriction was there because of how ps2 technology(and older mmo tech) was, they were not capable of constantly upgrading the game with content with how restrictive the ps2 was with an external hd(also the fact that the game is older than WoW and games before that went with expacs to release all their new content, WoW was one of the first to actually have it in patches). No but WoW also had more than a 4 boss raid at the start and it had much more than 2 "endgame" dungeons. Also all the grinding in this is like a flowery meadow compared to how vanilla WoW was. Standards have been set in the last 10 years with mmos that require a subscription, and if those standards are not met then the game fades into the abyss that is f2p. The leveling standard blew away other mmos in this....the first time you leveled, it is not there for multiple classes or endgame compared to many other mmos that have come out in the last few years.
Argue all you want that there is plenty to do at endgame and for every person that says there is there's 3 or more on here that say otherwise, because it's not rushing at this point if someone hits 50, any player that hits 50 today will even see within the first 2 days just how the endgame is and instantly regret they have no more story to go through and nothing but crafting and fates.

yay 2.1! housing, backwards content, and what will be obviously be lagged pvp 3 months after release, please look forward to it. I'm beginning to believe even $9.99 is a rip off.
Welcome to the launch of a new game! These sort of things WILL happen with any new MMO. Backwards content? Not sure what you are trying to convey there.
Like I have told to people that have these thoughts, wait 1-2 ( maybe even 3 patches) then come back. You'll see like how 1.0 did. 1.0 went from crappy to playable and enjoyable.
Give the game a chance to get quality updates.
What they mean is content that moves backwards instead of forwards. Crystal Tower does exactly that, they delayed it because they felt it was overtuned and they wanted it to be easier than Coil, 2 months later random pugs are clearing turns in coil. So it's going backwards adding in content that's easier than the current endgame but is not needed in any way shape or form to finish the current content. Don't make the excuse "but it will help more casual people clear coil", because I've seen a lot of those people on the forums complaining they can't df roll their way through the hardest content ingame or that they need an actual competent group to do anything in it(gear won't help them with those problems, if you suck you suck no amount of gear will change that).
While I do understand and agree that at launch, Crystal Tower should have should up first or delay the game so Crystal Tower would be at launch. However, we can't change what happened and most people haven't even got their relics/AF, let alone Coil. When CT drops in 2.1, it will:
1) All people that can't even muscle past Turn 5 of Coil will have Crystal Tower to lean on for gear before doing that final turn
2) New players that are nearing cap ( or even working their way there, like myself), will have this benefit of Crystal Tower before hitting turns 1-5 in Coil)
Again I completely understand and agree that CT should have came at launch. Even still the game NEEDS this content for MOST people in the game. DF is not even the issue, Coil runs can't even beat Turn 5. CT is probably the answers to most people who can't beat Turn 5.
