Yep, you sound pretty amused to me. I'll venture a guess and say you've been amused by goons before.Yes because with a social group/mob who clings to mass amounts of members to flourish and diversify the number one priority is to stagnate or not keep expanding once all your current community members are together. Perhaps your mob group won't grow, but there's others complaining about applications they can't accept because they're just too big.
Rarely have any of the goon/mob guilds in previous MMOs reached an equilibrium and stopped growing. There's always new members like locusts to grow the swarm.
Unending mirth. The mirthest.

We do not recruit and will never recruit. All members of our FCs sought out membership months before beta 4. If anything we have contributed to the quality of our server in a positive way by bringing more players to participate in duty finders, to facilitate economic activity, and to provide additional diversity and enthusiasm to the pool of players. You would know this if you had read the thread, instead of leaping in to needlessly criticize others simply because they enjoy playing the game differently than you do.It's simply because when everyone on the whole darn server dogpiles into one or two guilds, it takes away from the opportunities for anyone else to make a guild (It's nearly impossible at this point unless you entered the game with a big circle of real life friends).
I'd rather see 10 50 person guilds floating around than 1 500 person guild.
Please stop posing in this thread. I would hate for you to embarrass yourself further by continuing to flaunt your ignorance.
i will simply say this (since it's seems to try to help is take like an offense)
"it's not at the game to adapt to the player, but the player to adapt to the game."
you did come with a large community, fine, you can't get every body in the same FC, that will not change sadly for you. then time to find new way to organize your own community to adapt it to Final Fantasy 14: ARR.
one more time i don't try to insult anybody, nor to say that you are totally wrong to have a large community. (even if for me, the purpose of this humongous community into one and only one FC is... something i will not understand) but that you need to maybe think thing differently.
if you want to make square enter a circle hole it will not work... then time to adapt yourself at the game.
ps: another advantage to have multiple FC link by alliance, the freedom to adapt the FC buff to the need of the group inside the FC.
Surprise surprise, we have adapted. There are a number of very helpful volunteers who communicate between the FCs with linkshells. We have off-site forums to coordinate more regular occasions such as coordinated attempts to clear Titan for people who need their relics, etc.
It's just that these are workarounds, an inelegant solution to the problem. Larger FC sizes would fix the issue, and alliances likely will solve them too, though the lack of information means they might not fix all our problems. It'd suck if DGKK couldn't share FC housing with PBC, for instance. Alliances have been mentioned before but due to the busy weeks since release, there hasn't been much said about them. Now SE has responded, we've gotten our answer. I'm still personally skeptical that alliances will solve all our problems but dealing with the communication-between-FC does away with most of the problems.
What I don't understand is why are people so angry at the suggestion of increasing the limit? Is it really that difficult to grasp? Can people really be unable to imagine there can be gaming communities that like to play together, and that the community may actually be pretty big? how does it harm the game if SE increases the FC member limit?
I guess all the people raging about the OP's suggestion haven't really been part of any big group like PBC in and out of this game, so I can understand there could be some illogical resentment and even jealousy at not being part of a large group like PBC. However, that's not a valid reason to just whine and complain and be rude to the OP and all those of PBC who have posted here.
Sumii going to Japan? Somehow that doesn't suprise me.
The people who run Coil/primals together don't need all the features of the FC just for themselves since they're only running together sporadically, so they use linkshells for that. Having multiple LSes together in one FC means that we have groups that can help each other out, pick up ringers to fill empty spots, commission crafts from each other, do pickup content with each other, and so forth. I don't get the concept of the LS being the overarching group, especially with the way the size limits are set up.
Thanks! Guess I learned something today. I wish you could do the same but your mind seems to be set in stone.
We don't take offense to people trying to help. People popping into the thread after 30+ pages going "Welp, this thread is at 30+ pages and that's wayyyy too much to read, so I'll just assume that nobody in those 30+ pages had the brains to come with the suggestions I will after just reading the thread title." is what we take offense to. Your points have been made, again and again, and we have explained again and again why they have no merit.
Do you see why we're getting frustrated?
Tyrandor's right. Here's how this thread has gone, almost without exception, for the last 34 pages:
Us: "The 512 person LS membership cap doesn't work for us. Please increase it or add a better method of cross-LS communication."
Random Poster 1: "stop spamming invites on everyone"
Us: "We recruit only from a pre-existing community elsewhere; we have never spammed invites at random."
Random Poster 2: "kick out all the alts and people who haven't logged on for six years"
Us: "We don't allow alts, and over two-thirds of our members have logged in within the last few days."
Random Poster 3: "use linkshells instead"
Us: "Linkshells have an even lower cap, that won't address our needs."
Random Poster 4: "stop spamming invites on everyone"
Repeat ad nauseum until you want to pull an Elvis on your monitor.
