i think the soundtrack is pretty good. all you have to know is that it's Uematsu. if you don't like the soundtrack you could always turn it off and listen to some of your music

For FFXIV? I think it's pretty good, just needs more tracks, especially since the zones are so large, maybe having three or four tracks for different areas in the zone would work nicely. Maybe have different battle tracks for dungeon fights (and separate music for each region's dungeons like they do for the normal battle themes). But so far, the quality of the music we hear now is good in my opinion. There's just too few tracks still.

I listened to this and enjoyed it quite a bit lolhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmtRB...ir9u7Q&index=4 Prove to this is bad and I'll admit Nobuo lost his touch.
Sounds good for arena fights or something similar. The guitar sounds cool but in this piece it's quite a contrast from the first section, almost feels out of place at first.
Ok now that i know where you stand and i can say that musical experience aside, we both have different views of the OST's quality, however we both like Uematsu's work overall (and i love the orchestral versions of the FFIV OST).For FFXIV? so agree to disagree.
I agree XI hands down had a wayyyyyyyyyyyy better soundtrack than this not to say this is bad mind you.
I was a die hard fan of Uematsu until I heard the soundtrack for this game. It all seems rushed and it looks like SE told him hey make us about 300 music tracks real fast causing him to focus more on quantity rather than quality, it would of been suited with more hands on deck creating the music for this game.
Oh, I absolutely love his orchestral arrangements for everything he's done so far. I enjoy all of his original soundtrack material too, but the orchestrations are at my #1.
My original argument was just that I think he knows that his music is gonna be in games, and creates it how it would sound appropriately for a game, so I believe that what we hear in the games is pure Uematsu. And then he decides whether or not he wants to make the epic orchestra arrangements and wow his fans. I think it's easier to make the looped midi arrangement first and then evolve it into orchestra, rather than make the orchestra version first and work backward from it.
If I ever got the chance to write the soundtrack to any game, I would probably also make orchestral arrangements for each piece as well, because I just love hearing that epic orchestra sound.
yes if they add more tracks in the future to the game i hope its not Nobuo for sure, the music was ok but it just dont fit with the visuals of the game at all ... i really hate battlefield leves music so much lol.
the only awesome songs are the gathering leves music and la nosca music(outside limsa) and some of the tracks that plays in the main quests.
also i would like to say redoing the music for this game is abit crazy right now and will never happen.
Maybe they should have separate battle/field tracks for day & night. What do you think?
Edit: Although dungeons & The Black Shroud won't really be affected, but I still think it'd be pretty cool.
I think the tracks are awesome, I take these tracks over 11's track tbh and I played 11 for 7 years so Great Job Nobuo! Keep it up Proud of you as always!
