Please get Naoshi Mizuta to re-do this disastrous soundtrack

While there are a few decent (not exceptional) songs here and there, the FFXIV soundtrack as a whole is a big mess and /largely/ underwhelming. There just isn't much worth salvaging. Just look at the title track. "The land's alive so believe." Hands down the worst Final Fantasy song ever. I haven't met a soul who has enjoyed that song. Even Koda Kumi's songs from FFX-2 were 1000x better.

I think that along with all of the gameplay changes being made, it is important to also make the music suit the game. I for one hate all of the electric guitar music in FFXIV made by Nobuo Uematsu. In fact, there are multiple threads on just how crappy the music is. The man has done good work in the past, but most recently, he's a flop.

If anyone is to re-make this bunk soundtrack, I think that it should be Naoshi Mizuta who did an amazing job on the ToAU and WotG soundtrack for FFXI. To me, they were even better than the original songs. He could do /wonders/ for this title.

How dare you insult the great composer Nobuo Uematsu!

All his music is great, and honestly was the only thing I hated about FFXI (him not doing the soundtrack)

There are reasons I did not like FFX-FFXIII and the main problems where that the music was not done by this great man

There is nothing wrong with the music. Even in past games, the techno-rock stuff has been pretty common. Have you listened to the entire OST? There are some really good tracks.

Not gonna find many people that are going to agree with you bashing Nobuo Uematsu, and really? Koda Kumi? You've lost your mind. Also you picked some bad selections (save for the last one) of FFXI music, there are much better examples if you were trying to make a point.

I wasn't insulting him. I said he's done good work in the past, but this is definitely the dullest soundtrack he's ever composed. He just went too overboard with the electric guitar, and the whole thing comes off as very rushed.

when you insult a piece of music, you insult the composer. Just like if you insult a dish, you insult the cook. If you insult a painting, you insult the artist.

Is this a joke. FFXIV soundtrack is beyond reproach.

It is possibly the best soundtrack for a game I have ever heard, besides FFVIII.

The music in this game is great, but it gets grating because the zones are so large and it's only one track per zone. If anything, we would benefit from more tracks that play in different places throughout a zone.

Naoshi Mizuta is a great composer, but Nobuo Uematsu is a God, and there is nothing wrong with the soundtrack.

Actually, the theme song is called "Answers", and that line is but one of many from the song. And I love Answers....have you heard the orchestrated version yet? It is on par with Distant Worlds, Suteki da Ne and all those other theme songs; it sets the mood for the game excellently.

And I must say, redo the soundtrack, which is one of the few things praised about the game? I think not. As for the 'multiple threads' hating the music, those got quickly rebutted by those who do enjoy the tracks. Everyone has different opinions on music, so I'm not saying you're wrong, just that you're over-exaggerating the 'disastrous' soundtrack, making it sound worse than it actually is.
