My best bet is it is IP-Logging. I only did get that message as I logged into the forum from elswhere than my gamingcomputer.

There are quite a few other postings on this - it's IP logging. Unfortunately if you use certain providers you'll get this message even if you only ever play from home. It's similar to Rift's Coin lock system.
So nothing to be too concerned about, just a bit frustrating as it can seem like another log on -> another password reset.

It happened to me yesterday. I switched from a network to another and the SE account got locked. Actually that helps an hacker or malevolent person (like an angry partnerThere are quite a few other postings on this - it's IP logging. If one manages to get into the email used for logging in FF XIV s/he just needs to try to login with the tethered mobile phone, thus changing the IP address and then reset the password from the email. It does more damage than the good it expects to achieve.

And if you dont HAVE a cell phone that log on token wont work will it? i have one but dont use it and it is NOT an android anyway. So too bad for us. I have had suspcious activity too, bunches of unkown e mails over the usual and also strange activity on my computer suddenly when a svghost goes wild when i am playing last night it lagged my sysetem and grabbed up to 90 percent of my system resources so badly that the dungon i was in was almost blown, luckily the rest of the team were nice and waited for me to shut down that run away service and we succeeded in finishing it. I am looking into it today with the help of techs but there is definltey lots of IP log on hacking going on and i suspect some of it is targeted from gil sellers who i have sent in warnings on to SE. At least that problem seems to be controlled better now as they have vanished from the worlds i visit. I guess we just have to keep viiglilant and do what we can to protect ourselves. What a world where we have to fight foes IN the game and out of it too.![]()
