Why aren't server transfers free?

I originally started on Ultros with a Guild that I had been running with for over 6 months. Gone through phase 2.0, 3.0 etc.

What happened to the guild or FC now, is that the core group simply refused to log out, rushed to 50, did their epics and used the guild resources to support that effort.

When most of us could finally get in, the core groups moved on and out. Burned out I guess.

No servers were available except EU for NA players and visa versa that I saw. So here I am on an EU server, (nice people don't misunderstand me) but wrong time slots.

I would love to go back to where I started, but not going to pay $25 to do so. SE should have issued 1 free move.

They did? Login right now and do it! (If Ultros is open for transfer at the moment. Might not be if it is peak time.) Free transfers for everyone for the next 3(?) days! Not sure how you missed that announcement, or the long threads about it which are still going on...

Due to login and character creation restrictions set in place after the start of official service, many players were unable to create characters on their desired Worlds. In order to address this issue, players will be allowed to use the World Transfer Service free of charge from Tuesday, October 15, 2013, to Monday, October 21, 2013, 01:00 a.m.
