WoW can't be blamed really, for a long time they revolutionized raiding by removing a lot of the pain (Anyone remember buff lines in EQ1?). Instanced 25 man raids was a huge turn for the better, taking out a lot of the repetitive and monotonous portions of raiding and allowing for extremely difficult fights which relied on the raid's skill and coordination. What changed was the player base, any company is going to cater to their customer, and when the player base slowly moved from hard-working talented players to less dedicated "casuals" so did the direction of the game.

*I do not mean anything negative about the term "Casuals", it just seems to be the best way to describe the new wave of MMO players.

    Blizzard Fails
    1) Token Gear
    2) LFR/Flex Raiding
    3) Points System for purchasing gear
    4) Dungeon Journals
    5) Cross Realm Stuff
    6) Going from 40m down to 25 and 10m raids
    7) Trivializing talents and rotations
    8) World bosses are shit now, no thrill of PvP or competition to get the tag and kill and loot.

I know times will change and maybe they have to, I'm old schooled in my mentality, but the genre that was MMO's WoW did kill. Instanced raiding is just technological/server limitations back in the day.
