too much crafting materials in dungeon coffers

I understand they could be converted into much better gears, but their varieties are so limited compared to those pink sets. at this moment

except i wasnt talking about crafted gear in general but the vintage gear that could potentially be crafted from these old/moldy/charred gear that could be found in the coffers.

I made it a point to search them up on xivdb and they honestly don't match up to the aetherial gear sets that wouldbhave been otherwise available.

as a tank, I have the full cavalry set (from brayflox), which should have been replaced in cutter's cry by a set of odd albeit very good gear (a pink elmo, the darkshell scalemail and the paladin's pants) but i only managed to get the elmo after some 10 runs. my gear should have been replaced by the aetherial mythril gear supposedly found im stoke vigil thereafter, but once again after some 10 or so runs i only got the celata, and I'm already 45.

I guess the cavalry (or battlemage or infantry) set would have sufficed..

That's because Aetherial is HQ + random stat, while the stats listed on xivdb are for NQ. Dungeon greens are effectively HQ with +1-2 item level, which is what the Vintage items are as well if you HQ them.
