Cross Server chats, duty finder, partys

I know the duty finder is cross server and that is really great at lowering que times and what time, but it needs to be taken a step further with cross server chat channels and the ability too invite players to groups before duty finder. I know this is more than possible and may take a little time too implement But you can meet someone in a instance and possibly never see them again. This would also expand the possibility for people to find groups for progressing. Based on the times zones they live in. FC chats and a certain channel, would be used only for chat and groups, obviously, their would also be a lvl minimum placed on the channel, like you need to have a job or lvl 40+ to join the channel to reduce gil spamming. Which we all hate, and limit the amount of messages that can be sent per min.

It may take a while to implement this since they can't even get whispers or free company actions to work in an instance.

I heard linkshells work so I believe that has to be by choice.

Seperate worlds are seperate worlds. While you can create seperate servers that players will connect to for instances, which is how the DF system works, you'll never be in each other's open worlds or chatting with them because the worlds themselves are not directly connected.

    its something like this:

    World A → Duty finder servers ← World B
    . . . . . . . . . . ↑
    . . . . . . . World C

Ask Blizzard how difficult it was to get Bnet chat and xrealm working.

That damn thing is still buggy and randomly disconnects, and months later there's still areas that will dismount my passenger.

You could chat with people in every server in EQ ~2002'ish. It was nice having access to the top tier raiding people that played your class to bounce ideas off. I imagine it could be done nowadays if they really felt the need, as long as their infrastructure allowed for it.

I'd love this. I keep running into lovely people on the DF and when we swap server names we're never on the same one. Sucks to run into somebody like that and then know chances are you'll never party (or even chat) with them again! I can imagine it would be complicated to implement but it's one of my top 'most wanted' features right now tbqh.

Rift had cross-server groups that would persist during/after "Duty Finder" ever since its implementation. Shortly after that, they expanded to having cross-server chat, then ultimately, real-time server changing *gasp*

If SE's code allows them to do it, they will add this, in time, as it only widens there community and helps bring in more customers, but I cannot even pretend to know the work required to make this possible. I would also imagine the PSN might also be a limiting factor.
