yea pretty much every major area has a 40-50 area that many only visit for relic and GC/class log, i am sure in the coming updates there will be more reason to visit these areas.
I didn't search the area enough past getting my SMN relic item but this wouldn't surprise me I am sure the Dev's are going to find a way to have Ramuh a DF fight at some point as well as Leviathan and Shiva! its exciting to see what the future holds for the game with so many area's that are rarely used and can be expanded upon!
-By the light of the crystal-

Ramuh will probably have something to do with that area.

Yeah, pretty sure Sylphlands is a placeholder area for whenever Ramuh is introduced. That might not be until patch 2.2 though. It's a huge area so I'm assuming there's going to be a pretty decent sized story arc there.
Another small area that wasn't mentioned was Proud Creek, northeast of Fallgourd Float. Currently it's only used for some Hunting Log mobs though. There's an Ixali camp and a bunch of Dullahans in the area.

I think people will be there more with the incoming beastmen dailies with 2.1 patch.

Its the same thing as in La Noscea with the placeholder for the Levithan Primal. All things to look forward to in future expansions![]()
I don't think I'd call the Sylphlands huge. It's a bunch of small to medium-sized areas connected by narrow paths. It is very pretty though, if extremely annoying due to the density of ranged mobs.

The Sylphlands are kind of a pain for any other reason besides the quests you need to go there for. The terrain makes it awkward to move around for fate grinding, and everything there will agro on you. There aren't many players there because there are better locations.
