My Experience as a Warrior Tank in Coils

My FC have done some testing with WAR dps and if you remove your war soul to go back to Marauder, apparently you can out dps decked out dragoons. I couldn't tell you how since I wasn't doing the testing but I'm really glad to see people getting rid of the idea that WAR is useless.

Tell me, since both have the same core sustained buffs (+20% dealt and 10% vulnerability debuff) and DRG has higher potency (+20 on main combo, +150 on debuff combo, +100 on stun, plus 3 additional off-GCD attacks) and higher strength (+42) how exactly is MRD going to out-DPS a DRG? I'll give you a hint: it doesn't even come close.

Really have you tested it? Again I wasn't the one doing the testing so I can't answer this. Maybe other Warriors who have done similar testing could let you know. When I get online next i'll ask the ones in my FC if they want to share. :P

Edit: If I had to guess, I'd say it's the fact they gain access to abilities like: Straight Shot, Raging Strikes, Venomous Bite, Impulse Drive, Invigorate, and Hawk’s Eye.

I don't have to. Mechanics aren't very complicated. What your FC did is the same thing that various others have "discovered" over and over: if you stack out Berserk, Blood for Blood, Raging Strikes, Maim, and Storm's Eye, you have high peak DPS, to the tune of 270% of base. For 20 seconds, you genuinely do good DPS. However, over time, you'll fall to around 10-15% lower DPS than DRG. It's not terrible, but it's not worth doing, and the inability to get an ilvl80+ weapon puts some rather large nails in the coffin. Wait for MRD's DPS job (Berserker or Viking, most likely) when you get more damage and fewer aggro issues.
