Actually for my first lvl 50 Craft (GSM) I did not even know about triple turn in's and did all singles. (the best exp I thought I could get).

For 2nd-5th lvl 50 craft I did mostly triple hand-in's, lots of the HQ items I handed in were bought from the market, or a paid another crafter to make them for me. (Lazy I know but I could make more gil crafting higher lvl things than it cost to pay someone to make my leve items!) Usually until lvl 35 or so when i could easily HQ my own items.

I was after the exp not the gil.

Yea, the whole situation bothers me, and when I thought I saw proof of at least 1 person in the wrong, I jumped too fast. It looked at first glance that people had been screwed and there was some dirtbag making them all look like liars.

Unfortunately there does seem to be exploiters/cheats about and they do seem to be doing something fishy with leve hand-in's.

But I doubt the people here claiming innocence are lying, as why would an exploiter spend their time selling 100's of low value items.

I despise cheaters as much as anyone and probably more than most.

Have to agree here. I despise cheaters as well, and report many every time I log in. I still see the same people doing it, especially afk scripting/macroing full skill rotations. The amount of gil you have from leves isn't even worth exploiting over, which should be the first clue to anyone reading.

As for staying on topic, I sympathize with kevin, and feel he is telling the truth. I had some friends get hit with the blanket suspensions, and I had crafted with these people the whole way through. The only thing they are guilty of is being dedicated to the game. I am not saying everyone was innocent, I am saying a lot of innocents were caught in the crossfire. Even if you don't agree on a personal level, you have to admit that you can't go about it in the way that SE did and not catch innocents, and you shouldn't automatically assume that everyone crying foul is guilty because of this. Just like legal systems in real life, the question shouldn't be if innocents got hit in this, but how many.

If you refuse to accept that some of these people are innocent by shooting down every single one of them, then you operate on the assumption that SE is perfect and didn't catch any innocents at all, which is a naive and ignorant standpoint. Don't get me wrong, I am not going off of the opposite assumption either. But I do believe scarebearz and kevinc are innocent.

I realize someone could argue I am being naive as well by trusting those same friends so much, but it isn't that at all. I personally witnessed a good deal of their market transactions and how ontop of offering their services to the public they were. It would take too long to fully explain every detail here about their sales, but the approximate amount adds up in my head.

It wasn't about the gil. The way it went down is: I was reading about the leave exploit and realized how easy it would be for SE to just look at character data and see if someone used it. Then I remembered Scare's post about the gil in log. It seemed pretty high so I thought OMG finally got proof!
So I rushed to get some confirmation and that's where the wheels fell off my bus.

Hopefully this doesn't come across as a d-bag response, because it isn't meant that way. But that is what happens when you argue to be right instead of argue to make an objective point. Something everyone is guilty of, including myself, so I don't hold it against you. In other words, you shouldn't look at that and think proof. That means you already assumed they were guilty before hashing it out fully. The confirmation you sought after such a biased beginning point can only in turn be biased itself.

On the plus side we gave the forum its dose of excitement for the day. We should do this about once a week for kicks.

But is 50k really that much? I didn't play XI as much as I've played XIV, but we were really surprised that they would flag that much... but the main point anyway is that we were completely unable to get support, and the account was done for... just like the situation here where some people honestly just want to get an official word in.

Depends on when this was done. old school XI, it was kind of a pain to raise money.

I'm glad to see they learned from their stupidity. I'm never playing a mmo from SE again, I'll just write it down on my list under Funcom

Sorry for your loss, man. If it were me who got their gil "stolen" from SE, I would have definitely quit playing. This is really unacceptable indeed...
