SE made Summoners and Scholars happy today.

Particularly with THIS part of the update...

An issue wherein players were unable to use their pet’s actions while casting a spell.

Yes, that's right. Now you can move your pet while casting (and an assortment of other things). Go test it out for yourself! (I'm posting this here in case someone missed the patch notes and didn't realize that commanding your pet while casting IS intended... it was just an 'issue'.)

Furthermore, this little change will make Summoners (and nuke-happy scholars) in particular very happy:

Enhancing effects and enfeebling effects applied to another player or enemy by your character will now always appear to the left of all other status effects underneath the target bar.

Now, all of your DoTs/effects appear on the LEFT side of a target bar... not in random order. No longer do you have to try to find the DoTs with the tiny, barely noticeable 'green' text. You will just know which DoTs are yours... MUUUUCH easier to track.

How could SE improve this further? Put a priority on negative effects on party members in the party list. (As it is now, you can ONLY see 5 buffs/debuffs at a time. Healers will have issues knowing who to esuna/leeches if that player has already reached the party list buff/debuff limit.)

All I wanted to say was... SE has made me very happy this day, although I do feel bad for white mages...

An issue wherein players were not weakened after getting raised.

No more Medica II raises, I suppose. I thought that was intended... I guess not!

    Regarding this, check this out
There is a factual priority order on the party menu's five buffs/debuffs

Interesting. I'm not sure if it has been adjusted since my experiences, but I have been in situations where I needed to esuna a party member's debuff, but it wasn't showing up on the party menu list without me personally targeting the person to see it. I had to just 'know' it was there. One distinct example I remember was in AK on the first boss... the ability "Canker" which adds weight to someone... sometimes I wouldn't see it on the party list. I believe the debuff the tank gets from the final boss in AK works the same way.

The way this was so glitchy... no way anyone could think it was intended. When this glitch occurs, you kept the "Raise" buff that is meant to enable you to get up, this is why you never got weakened, because the raise effect wasn't properly removed.

The reason I thought it was intended is because they didn't hotfix it as soon as it was discovered (if it's not intended, it's a pretty big exploit... dying doesn't matter if the WHM could time the Medica II right). Everyone and their grandmother was using this 'glitch' for weeks/months and nothing was done about it.

They don't fix anything as soon as it's discovered

It took them quite a while to implement fixes for bahamut turn 5 after it had been known that there was a glitch and people even got in trouble for it.

Things take time to fix and different people are able to fix different things, this is why they do larger patches that fix a bunch of things at once, rather than fixing every individual thing as it comes up.

Didn't they temporarily close down turn 5 until they could fix it? They did the same thing with the Titan hard WHM tank exploit before they could come up with a fix in a matter of a few hours. That's at least addressing the problem...

But your original statement was "no way anyone could think it was intended." I thought it might have been intended because it didn't get fixed for a very, very long time... nor was it addressed in any official way. I don't know why some people nitpick just to nitpick. That wasn't even the original point of my thread.

Yes, both of those cause "Disease", which if you read the dev post in the linked thread, they mention disease was not being prioritized properly.

I had someone yell at me for not abusing that medica cheat. Glad I stood my ground and refused to use it as with it fixed, proves it was not intended and a cheat.

It was known long before turn 5 was shut down. Probably the main reason it wasn't shut down earlier is it hadn't happened enough for SE to confirm it. If something only happens once or super rarely, it could be considered a corner case and be a low priority to fix.
