Just join a nice social Free Company or Linkshell and all of those problems are solved. You don't have to use the Duty Finder, it's only an option.
the very reason I want more single player content. Sure working with others can be fun but when the community is polluted with sarcastic, arrogan, wont even humor the idea elitists like those above, you get put off. Lotro was killed by bad community, same reason players are leaving wow, many issues when it comes to enjoying the game. I play Because I like the story, like making my own characters, and like the option to play with others. But when a game forces you to play with others, and the "others", often only care about end gaming, the fun of playing with others dies quickly and becomes a tedious affair. So rather than see the game dry, I'd like too see them add a little variety to their coop heavy game.
I don't know if we played the same game, but I've never experienced the Lotro community to be bad or hostile in any way, it was a quite nice and helpful community (at least on the forums and on my server; don't know about your server) - maybe apart from being a Moors player, but PvP always comes with a bit of hostility between the opposing factions I suppose. And I assure you Lotro was killed by the lack of challenging group content ... there was enough solo content, but honestly, the majority of MMO players wants to play a multiplayer game and not do their own thing all day long without ever grouping once, after all the multiplayer part is what sets a MMO apart from a single player RPG. As said, you have plenty of Single Player RPG options out there. What's the point of playing a multiplayer game, if all you do is trying to avoid contact with other players? I don't get it. I don't mind getting some single player options whatsoever, unless they don't hand out raid gear that way (like getting your relic weapon solo or farming philosophy/mythology stones solo and the like).the very reason I want more single player content. Agreed, it it's a multiplayer game. I did say I like to play with others, but I also like enjoying a game im paying monthly for. As it stands its almost impossible to do without dealing with very detrimental members of the community. All I was saying it's that both parties should be catered to. Just as we get new fates every*now and then, so too should we get single player quests and events. It's only fun to play with others when it doesn't inconvenience you. In this game you can hardly play at lvl 50 while trying to enjoy the story because it becomes FFXIV speed run.
The question that bothers me in the first place is, why do you even pay a monthly fee for a game, that is obviously not suited for you (as you dislike the whole multiplayer/grouping part)? And as already mentioned, you do not have to deal with the detrimental members (and there are for sure quite a few of them) of the community - just search yourself a free company that fits to your playstyle and you are golden. I also don't know if you already realized this, but the story comes to an end at a certain point, so can't play the game for the story anymore, all that is left is the end game which I'm afraid isn't in your realm of interest. I don't like the speed running either, but I just visit the dungeons with my company and we have a blast in TS.Agreed, it it's a multiplayer game. Again, I think ive stated clearly in my first post that its not that I hate multiplayer its that when its the only driving force of a game it kills it. Questing as a party is fun, same with dungeon runs. But at a certain point it loses its charm to. Its like grinding everything to 50 and getting all the best gear then bitching that the runs are too easy, makes no sense does it. The point of this thread was to put the thought of having some content be solo and other multiplayer would be nice. Would you honestly not enjoy fight a event boss on your own for once and not have to worry about lag, crashes, and dc's. Look at the odin fate thats horrible and the future of this game.
Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. Yes, there is a certain... dynamic... in the "end-game" community, but I'd like to think that it's part of my responsibility to be the good I want to see in the world - albeit a digital fantasy world. My favorite part of this game is helping other people accomplish goals. Do I have my own? Sure, but I don't need them immediately. Helping my friends and random folk to get there only increases the pool of people with whom I can work/play later. That, to me, is what an MMO is all about.
like ive said. its not the mmo aspect that bothers me, its a lack of options to do anything but. I do the same as you do, go around healing and aiding again, I do enjoy playing with others but id be nice the option to not depend on others to get through everything and have things you can enjoy on your own as well.Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. Ok, so you can have single player content...
But you won't get the best gear (if any) out of it.
No problems, right?
Not a problem in my book, unless its like a boss fight for an event like the FFXIII fate next november. But getting at least decent gear would be fine so long,as its not common. or better yet Gil so People who dont particularly like crafting can make some gil too.
