Why aren't you subbing to Final Fantasy XIV now that the trial period is over?

I have given the game a bit more time, waiting for major patch 2.1 before i make a final decision.

It does get a bit tedious, am on full dark light and nearly got enough tomes for relic and relic +1. Did i rush? not really - i have a child, wife and a full time job.

Could i alt? i tried a bit of crafting but not my thing, i might level a blm on a cold rainy weekend....

Really want to attempt coil but waiting for my guildees to catch me up, should'nt be to long now. However it does feel a bit empty at the moment.

2.1 will make or break the game for me, Ideally i wanted something long term, e.g i played eqoa, eq2 and aions for year(s)+.

However i have also signed up to betas for alot of upcoming games.

I do not Sub because of the delay I am/was experiencing. Gamebreaking for me. Changed to "The Secret World" and enjoying it very much.

I sub for the 90 days, this will be the only time I'll do this if the game doesn't offer me new content, less grinding MORE reward! Especially with many other classes and more I'm sure are to come. I especially hope that the PS4 version of the game really is as good as the PC version.

becasue it's part of any mmo , i like both (pve/pvp) well implemented and not a bad extra for a false 5%(source?),if not go back any offline game and say devs "dont waste time releasing pvp in 2.1 becasue it's just for those 5% that ruin my carebear single rpg experience ever!"

Except XI and XIV were always PvE MMOs and marketed as such. "PvP is part of any MMO" but for PvE MMOs it's a tiny fraction of it and if you joined purely for the PvP you joined the wrong game.

Fate grinding.. WHo thought this was a good idea? It has to be the most uninvolved, unengaging, boring ways to level in almost any game I've played.

I cannot agree more with that assertion. And I played many games in 3 decades.

Something serious has to be done about FATEs. I'll wait for the next big patch, but I have little hope about this.

I like how some people get defensive in a post specifically asking about people's decisions to unsub and instead post that they are subbing. I mean good for you I'm glad you're enjoying the game, but OP is trying to understand people who AREN'T going to keep subbing. Seeing a "subbing cuz I like th game" post is sort of one of those < Reading Comprehension> < Do You Have It? > moments. Granted, I am a subscriber and probably will be at least til the end of the year (depending on the updates), but I like reading criticisms and negative opinions on the topic to see their point of view.

That will be the sub/stop for me
I enjoy the game overall (Legacy player) and I currently enjoy crafting byt the current end-game grind is extremely boring to me
So I will wait and see what they have in store and might stop and come back once their is more things to do
