You do know YoshiP is a huge PvP fan and has played Dark Age of Camelot quite extensively right? The announced "Frontlines" PvP system is quite likely going to be inspired by DAoC's Realm vs Realm.

I'm no fan of balancing PvP for small battles like 4vs4 or something, but large scale RvR like in DAoC is a lot of fun when executed well.

It won't be PvP focussed no, but there will be PvP, and more than likely more than just arena style PvP. It shouldn't affect PvE balance much, if at all, considering there was talk about an additional skill-set for PvP and there will be PvP specific gear/stats. Judging by the fact that they've already designed quite a good number of different PvP armours, I do believe PvP will actually become a sizeable part of the game.

Your attempts at downplaying PvP before its even released amuse me greatly. Guessing you played FFXI and not much else. PVP did die out completely in XI due to dev lethargy and apathy, it's true. In other mmos though? It's pretty undeniably huge.

PVE gets old fast. Same fights, same strategies, same patterns. Typical gear race. With PVP something is always different and unpredictable. And it'll always have quite a cult following regardless of how much you avert your eyes.

Games like Fantasy Earth Zero which had 1.2 million subs (not in the US) which was made by Square-Enix. On the U.S side we pleaded for summoner to be added in. Us dirty PvP people who played a PVP game developed by Square-Enix.

I think you're confused if you think all mmo pvp gamers would not play this game. A lot of guilds haven't bought it because it didn't launch with pvp.

Sorry 100% of the coders aren't working on making a new PVE dungeon for you.
