Im not taking side his fault for starting it, and your fault for continuing it (anyhow, off this subject)
I can't wait for the Video Reports as well!![]()
I think this was an informative letter. Plenty of stuff seems to be coming down the pipe. I'm glad that Yoshi basically flat-out admitted that changing class names to "traditional" ones just for shits and giggles was a terrible idea that would add nothing, and is actually adding a fully-fledged job "title/augment" system to complement the armory system. I'm especially excited about what Matsui and Yoshida both mentioned in their respective letters about unlocking job-specific abilities through quests. That's a perfect way to go about questing: giving tangible rewards that we actually care about and some cool story along with it.
And reworking the opening tutorials? Sounds like they heard my cries a few months ago. It'd be hilarious if we got a moogle or a mini-Flahminn as a pop-up for explanations on how to do stuff. Yoshi's making good on his "making the rules easier to understand" statement.
Couple of weird things.
Ifrit battle? I mean yeah that'd be awesome, and there's storyline precedent, but just Ifrit? I mean, I think it'd make more of a splash to say "primal battles". Why specifically Ifrit? Not a bad thing, but weird.
A mount "system"? Didn't think things could get so complicated that they'd need an entire mount "system". Maybe we WILL finally be able to ride coaches, Garlean tech, and of course dodos...
This letter and Matsui's info have been successes in my opinion and I'm feeling that pre-release excitement all over again. Ironic since the game is out already I know, but I always thought that 2010 was too early a release time for a game this big that was announced a just year prior. As far as I'm concerned, dev time should have been extended by a year anyway.
Keep on truckin' SE. You're climbin' a steep mountain, but you'll get there.
