Yes, yes people we are all aware there is an animation delay on instant skills. The problem is Hallowed Ground's delay is roughly three times longer than other skills.
Hit Hallowed Ground
1 second passes
Hallowed Ground goes on cooldown
1 more second passes
Invulnerability effect kicks in.
Dying between the skill being used and actually becoming invulnerable is quite common considering it's situational use.
You could be a warrior and have nothing but Foresight, stop complaining !!! ... Warrior jokes aside, I dunno, I've noticed that too. Sometimes I have to spam click it to get it to go off at all.
Because all skills have a preparation animation, then effect, and then follow-through animation. Even simply raising the character's hand will result in a pause in the skill taking effect.
In other words, it's working as intended, I'm afraid.
