This video should help you out. The trick to Titan is just anticipation. If you notice there is a 'ramp up' time in movement. If you stand still then it's more likely you will be hit anticipating the plumes versus the player who just kept moving for it.

yeah, this is a latency problem and not a skill problem. people will say things like "blah blah reaction time blah blah move faster," but only because they never had this problem themselves

when you fix your latency, plumes are actually very easy to avoid

I've had far more success pre moving for plumes the only way to avoid them really because they stack up in awkward positions sometimes and it's hard to get out from a stationary position. Did a PuG last night to practice some more and shame really because we were making progress and everyone had good gear but one of the Tank's just randomly decided to leave after a P5 wipe because half the party ran the wrong way on the bombs and then everyone just followed.

Knowing when the plumes come or having somebody in the party who knows and has a macro for warning for it helps a lot to be in motion before it. Phase 3 and 4 are the easiest for it because the plumes always follow a landslide so after landslide you can use sprint if you are a healer and run around until you see them appear then you'll be easily able to run out before they explode. iirc the other two phases the plumes come after the stomp.

That said i did randomly die from a bomb for what i can only assume is lag. I ran out to the safe area when the other bombs exploded with everyone else and they all lived but i died taking damage from bombs somehow. People even said they saw me next to them then i just dropped dead. I can deal with it if i died from me just sucking but when i clearly shouldn't of died it drives me mad XD.

    anticipation.

that's pretty much it, once you know when the plumes spawn or you know when it's about to come, stop dpsing, keep moving and wait til they spawn, remember, the only dps race is heart phase, other than that it's just surviving.

I'm assuming you have really bad ping, because people can dodge it just fine if their ping is below 100, meaning they don't need to anticipate (though it's still helpful), so don't beat yourself up, and if you have good ping and you still couldnt get out in time, well you're a black mage, and black mage rotation requires you to stand still, but now at least you know that it's fine to sacrifice some deeps just to avoid the plumes.

One thing I have read in other threads that really seemed to help me master this boss is that starting a cast forces the server to update your position. I run around like an idiot when I know plumes are next and freeze and start a cast as soon as I'm even a smidge out of the aoe. I only have anecdotal evidence that this works, but it can't hurt.

Also, with bombs, you must be watching for yourself and moving on your own without watching others. With the positional lag in this game (when you die, watch people moving out of aoe and when they do and do not get hit--it's a bad delay), if you are trying to follow someone, you are going to get nailed by most bombs.

also, don't jump, jumping is bad in this game! when you jump, your official position will still be on the place where you press jump, and will only change spots when you land, this means you are at a very vulnerable position when you're up in the air. this is bad, really bad. there is no proof in this, but this is what most of us believe how jumping works in this game.

Ever seen mountain buster hit the WHM behind titan and the tank? scene it happen 3 times (different whm on different days so not a connection issue).

Point is Titan HM is a messed up fight and some people never have any issues, some people always have issues and some people its very random if they have issues. This is not a fight that you should judge anything in your skills on. Get titan over with and move on to fun content that works as intended.
    Yeah, no.

Mountain Buster hitting your WHM means he is standing on Titan or in front of him, then lying to you about it to get sympathy.

When we were learning Titan we had all of our casters start doing this. It definitely feels like it helps out with making sure you dodge plumes.

My experience of jumping out of WOT and Landslide at the last second, not landing until after the cast is done and still not getting hit by it because my body cleared the aoe says pfft.

I stopped watching the Daily Show and started looking at the screen. It was quite easy.
