Want gil? Do the DF guildhests.
Want EXP? Do the DF dungeons.
Want gil and EXP? Do the DF guildhests ... or levequests if you prefer.

The leves are for solo, the DF is for filling in spots (or creating an entire party.)

I have yet to have a truely poor DF party, just several rude tanks who disappear after the first boss or so.

At around 4.8k gil per day for current guildleve/regular leve rewards, you might be able to afford a single HQ 2 star item in about 6 months doing it that way! And dungeon exp, well you get 2-3x exp for one 5 minute fate compared to a 30+ minute dungeon. Yes, great alternatives! /agree.
