But how come I don't experience this issue with other games? Doesn't make sense that a faulty card would ONLY effect FFXIV. I don't think there is a compatibility issue either, as far as I could tell. Could this be motherboard related? I have a ASRock X70 Extreme 4. Maybe I need a BIOS update?

What "other" games have you played? The reason I asked whether your system recognise your GPU at Device Manager is so I could make sure your PC is not running it's internal graphics from the CPU instead from your new card. Some CPU can even handle crysis without the assistance of a graphics card, but FF14 is a CPU and ram intensive game- on top of an already graphics enriched environment, it would need both the CPU and GPU to operate together.

Therefore, I implore you to check your Device Manager to see if the card is showing up there. Then secondly, log on final fantasy and go to system menu to see what graphics card the game is recognising.

Edit: Just looked at your motherboard, it shouldn't be a problem. In regards to the BIOS, I am afraid I cannot advise you in this.

If it all checks out, you can always try to repair FF14 instead of reinstalling. Save you the time to re-download it (if you are using a digital copy instead of a disc). But you got a disc, go for it, reinstall. However, if it still not works out... I really think you have a faulty card.

I really don't want to suggest you to reinstall windows as well as that's simply not an issue if it works with your radeon card. But if you got a USB stick with windows on it, you can give it a try (since USB windows install only takes 15 mins instead of 2 hours from a disc)

So far I've only tested Path of Exile and Diablo 3, both of which seem to be working fine. My video card does in fact show up under Device Manager and under FFXIV's graphic settings.

Now that I know your PC recognise your GPU, it means that you have installed the card properly and you do indeed have (at least) proper drivers installed. (While I am still a bit reserved on whether you have cleaned your previously Radeon drivers properly but there's no way for any of us knowing until you wipe the whole system clean with a windows reinstall.)

Path of Exile and Diable 3 are less demanding game and could be run by the CPU alone, without the need of the GPU so you probably wouldn't notice the shuttering like ff14 since your GPU could have never been used in the first place except ff14. (I haven't tried Diable 3 with a CPU, but I know path of exile can, at least). If you got some other games, like battlefield 3, try it out on that.

Edit: But I still don't know whether you have attached a power cable direct from your power unit to your graphics card?

Trust me, neither game is running off the integrated GPU. Path of Exile is pretty demanding with maxed out graphics, and it now runs better than when I had my AMD 7850. I don't think either PCI slot is plugged directly into my PSU. I don't even think it's possible with my cable management setup.

And there is your problem. All of your high-end nvidia cards require a separate power source, they cannot run off of just the PCI Slot. Your video card should have came with 2 8-pin power connectors, these power connectors connect the two 8-pin slots on the right side of the video to the PSU. I bet if you read through the instruction guide that came with the video card that it will explain this.

The card won't properly function in other games and not FFXIV based on you plugging in you power. The slots are setup so you cannot install the cables incorrectly. The card should not even power on without both being plugged in. I would suggest doing a complete driver install and clean all old ones out of your system. For some, there have been some issues with FPS, artifacts, and crashes. Some even BSOD. You can find a few different threads in the tech support forum trying to diagnose these issues. To my knowledge, there has yet to be a good workaround or fix. Another thing to note, Nvidia has yet to put out drivers that have optimizations for FFXIV yet. Hopefully these drivers will help fix some of these problems.

I've got the same card and i'm running without any issues.

    i7 4770K (4.3GHz OC)
    16GB Crucical Balistix
    EVGA GTX 770 SC
    Samsung 830 Pro 256GB

Since you got AMD installed before, i suggest to install a driver cleaner to make sure all drivers are uninstalled, including NVIDIA: http://www.guru3d.com/content_page/g...r_sweeper.html

After the cleaning download the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com and mark the options: Perform clean install. (see http://www.legitreviews.com/images/r...ew_driver3.jpg)

Oh you silly! Don't think! Read the installation manual! That little book can save you from a world of hurt!

As Gonzothegreat198 and C-croft already stated. Your graphics card need a seperate power, supplying not from your motherboard but from the PSU directly.

Most graphics card are simply plug and play, but it is not that simple to literally plug, and, play! More like PLUGS and play!

Edit: after you have properly installed the card, and it still shows problem, well sir, return it and get a replacement and remember to say it's the card's fault and not yours! Got it?

327.23 have good results, and when you uninstall drivers do it in safe mode with something like https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...ller-ddu-v8-0/
