lol masochism at its finest, this will only help people. People are so enthralled with outdated mechanic's in an MMO.

having the hate meter is sort of like displaying the rank of the mob, or telling us if a mob is going to aggro or not. I'm not sure at what point these things were asked for or what the rationale is.
So we don't have to look up things up on online databases or use windower. This=better.
+1 I support this.
I do not even want it to be an option. Among so many issues in the game, the inability to see your own enmity certainly isn't one of them. I remember fighting the last boss in FF13 (the one that casts instant death) Carefully observing my damage output and the enemy actions to MAKE SURE I didn't have focus of hate. This was incredibly fun to a somewhat dull battle. Please developers, if it's too late to take the system out, consider removing it in the future.
I didn't know that requiring any kind of skills in a MMORPG was "outdated".
Oh wait, it isn't.
Nope. The level of the mob simply shows you information that you can easily get elsewhere, and that don't really help you beating the monster more easily.
An hate meter is effectively a crutch that oversimplifies a combat mechanic and turns it into a simple matter of reading the instructions and executing.

It would actually be nice if they add this. With this, if they ask me 'how did I measure or check my enmity" in a bug report, i can tell them "With your POS hate meter foo"
I don't mind the hate meter. How much is it going to hit me over the head? Is it just a percentage next to my health bar? Is it next to the health bar of the mob? Is it in the middle of the screen? I don't know any of this and how does this work when there are multiple mobs? Do I get to see my hate to each and every mob that my group has in the fight?
There are too many questions and in looking forward to this is if actually trying to make skill part of the game then shouldn't there also be some way for party members to work out attacks to hit at same time to spread the hate? This is one where I would love to see that hitting a monster from behind adds or reduces hate or timing a flashy spell/ability with a hard hitting one of another party member makes the hate be shared. Maybe the hate meter could actually add to the depth of the tactics that parties could use. I don't know and can't vote for or against it because I don't know what it will do.
So tanks spamming voke when they could be doing something more useful = skill? Could've fooled me.I didn't know that requiring any kind of skills in a MMORPG was "outdated".

This will lead to more strategic planning of skill/spell usage by everyone in the party, and that's just using the current battle system.

I vote no for the hate meter.
