    Is SE really this shady?

    I like to read the forums a couple times a day while at work. Its apparent that every single day there is a new thread about how shady SE is. If its banning people with high amounts of gil or removing gil from certain players if they have to much with out any notice before hand. Or if they have lackluster software to protect players from getting hacked. I even remember reading a thread where one person contacted support and then during the middle of the conversation the SE support staff brought up someone else's personal info in to the chat box. And the list goes on.

    So here is a question.

    Is SE really this shady and has such horrible standards when dealing with their paying customers? I've never played 11 or any other game that was design by SE that would need me to be reliant on there staff. Or are all these stories getting blown out of portion and seem worst then what they really are. Is SE struggling with launch? or is this the norm?

    Disclaimer- Shady was the wrong Adjective to use. I apologize to SE for that. I don't think there going Mafia on our azzes.
    I also didn't stat that RMT was the main issue. More on lines of the customer service and I used those as examples. It doesn't make me feel comfortable that I am going to get my issue solved any time soon. And thought Id asked if it will get better with time. I guess the whole sitting on hold for 2 hours plus would work, but id think not everyone can do that.

    Sorry if some thought this was a primarily RMT issue.

    They are punnishing honest players while incapable of dealing with RMT/BOTS

    It's quite an assumption that everyone who has lost gil and posted on these forums is completely innocent and honest. I can tell you with certainty that no one who actually did do anything wrong is going to post here admitting to it.

    It's hard to know what's really true or not with the rmt bans. The players who take to the forums and describe how SE is taking their millions of gil could actually be botters/rmt people. I mean, we all know there are botters and rmt-ers out there, the evidence is pretty clear.

    Or they could really be innocent players who SE really fucked over in their anti-cheating efforts. If that's actually true, it doesn't make SE shady as much as it makes their attempts flawed and kinda stupid.

    The only definitively "shady" stuff going on here is RMT and botting by outside sources.

    From what I have experienced, I think the support team is understaffed, and under trained on how to deal with different issues. There are no individual cases for the team because the canned responses to certain general situations save them time, which lets the understaffed team get to more people's problems. However, being understaffed is a business decision by SE, which, as a business is trying to maximise profit by minimizing expenses. As an accountant, I understand their corporate philosophy, but as a player, I want to know that my case will be heard with all the evidence that makes my case different from the canned response cases.

    I really couldn't tell you out of all those people who was legit and who was full of it that got temp ban. But that week I had 8.5mil and I didn't get a ban, Also made friends with a very skilled crafter who said he was rolling with over 30mil if he was lying idk but I doubt he was but he never got a ban. So I really don't think it was people with "Large amounts of gil" as much as it was people who used bots/bought gil.

    Simply put, SE has less than average customer's service of all the companies who make MMO's (or at least from my experience). They have been consistently below average since the days of FFXI. They have always turned a blind eye to RMT/Botters. I suppose it is money in the bank, and who wants to turn down 10k RMT subs, because a few people are crying about not making money in game.

    Thanks for a logical response. I fell the same way I know companies are maxing out profits. I also want all cheaters punished etc. I also know since I don't craft shiznit "everyone can see that for them selves with my profile" if I ever get hacked I wont have much to steal to begin with. But since never dealing with SE before I would definitely like to know I can rely on Support to get my account back.

    I guess you don't read many threads on good experiences with support.

    That's because the vast mjaority of people who do have good experiences with support don't come and post about it on the forums because their issue has been resolved therefor have no need to talk about the issue further, their issue has been dealt with and they moved on with their lives. It's mostly people who are never satisfied with the help they get (even if they get the best help some people are just never happy) that come on the forums and complain endlessly about it, and this includes problems that can not be dealt with straight away that take time to resolve but people want it done NOW even though those problems are virtually impossible to do there and then.
