    Oh me oh my, this positive discussion got nasty fast, putting that aside for a moment!

    and battle goodies and dungeons aside, this overlooked system has me very excited

    Action Bar

    We realize that having to reequip gear and reset actions every time you change class is a source of chagrin. Although we are unable to indicate a timeframe, discussions are underway with the UI team on ways for players to retain equipment and action data for each class.
    As battle revisions encompass not only tweaks to areas such as classes, items, and monsters, but also entail improvements to user interface, we wanted to share with you this aspect of our plans as well.
    how great is this!? Honestly, the hassle of reequipping gears and an entire slew of abilities is one of the most influencial reasons I exclusively play one or two classes (also, it seems very likely for stats to be saved based on a class basis after this) all right!

    I thought the blueprint was pretty damn spectacular. I mean, of course all of it wont be implemented by tomorrow but if you're playing an MMO I would IMAGINE that most players would stop and consider just how long it would take to change the mathematical equations associated with battle mechanics so when you push a button it does X < Y < Z.

    Not only the math behind it, but they are going to have to tweak animations for those set algorithms. And the UI? I mean we all know the core of it was/is a piece of crap so how do you expect them to re-code parts of crap to make it good in a quick manner?

    I am in no way a programmer or am I a mathematician (how about that for a class), but I do have enough common sense that when you have a relatively small group working on a game, then taking that small group and putting them in even smaller groups to focus on one thing......IT'S GOING TO TAKE LONGER.

    Logic logic logic logic is what people lack and surprisingly the dev's respondents haven't cussed anyone out. I commend them for that because I would have chewed some of you ignorant people out a long time ago. I'm not some SE lacky nor am I a blind fanboy, I am just able to realize (as much as can be) the difficulties that would be associated with totally revamping a game.

    My only complaint is I wish they would have say 3-4 groups of 15-20 working on a set project. Yes, it would be a little harder to communicate within one another what you're doing but if you all have a set mission that you are to complete (ha, you like my little mission stab? No? Meh.) then you all could finish what you are assigned and once everyone is done a small group (as they are now, ASSUMING) of 3-5 from the 15-20 merges the finished tasks together seamlessly and polishes up what needs to be. And each time they all are assigned set tasks, the small group of revisers would change so nobody is overloaded etc etc. And they would go from one thing (such as battle system) to another (content?) and when they were done with each move to the next. Quick and effective.
    This not only takes work load of a small number of individuals, but it also speeds up production. Maybe?

    because @ launch you didnt know how bad it was going to get, you didnt have 7+ months of nothing and sadness.

    As much as I welcome and like the new update, I really doubt it's going to "pull them through". It is just 1 feature out of MANY that needs to be addressed.

    There will never be a magical patch that suddenly fixes everything nore will 1 patch make a massive difference for everyone, it will be several patches over the next year or 2, just like XI.

    And the content isn't coming yet it will slowly be pushed out over several patches which will slowly pull people back (as well as push more people away as we'll be getting closer to other game release) so it balances out.

    I been here since launch, yes it did have a bad launch, but I know it would pull through one way or another. either A played FFXIV did what I could do on it, Or B Did something else like play another game of sorts.

    Right now, things are looking up from what they are telling us and what they are doing. My Expectations aren't set high, but I have a feeling it will pull through, after all this is the new dev team =)
