Instead of complaining if you just accepted the way it is you'd enjoy the game more.
The Egis are not going away. Ever. EVER. SE would have to change the entire storyline if they did.
So instead of complaining, why not just try to like it?

Cause people like to cry and moan about stuff, I actually think SE did a good job with the SMN class. The story was cool and the game play is nice and interesting. I think people are caught up on the entire lore of the series instead of the current gameplay and classes that are in the game. These 8 jobs are pretty much the core jobs of the game, 2 tanks, 2 healers, 2 magic caster, 1 ranged melee, 2 melee. As you can see they need 1 more ranged that uses DEX to even out the game then they can focus on other stuff. I'm guessing the first new class/job would be a Corsair or some kind of gunner. That way they can make BRDs more BRD like for people that want that and a pure ranged melee DPS class for people that want that.
Guessing they will save a pure SMN class that sticks more to the series for the expo or later on and will bring a few more support classes. Not sure how having your pet do 90% of your damage would be fun to people.

I'm not sure to whom you're directing your post since you didn't quote anything. If it was at me, I don't know how anything I said could lead you to believe I want the Egis to go away.
