    As a paladin, the cross class skills I take from the MRD are Foresight, Bloodbath, and Mercy Stroke, with mercy stroke coming latest at MRD lvl 26. At the very least I'd level the MRD to 8 since it's easy to do and it'll grant you the first two on that list, and the CNJ cross class skills aren't super useful in group settings.
