Instead of trying to be an obnoxious jerk, try being helpful. I'm not some computer (actually I'm on PS3) genius but apparently you are. All I know is there is nothing on my end that is wrong.

Here's the help, about 5PM is when a lot of people are finishing work, your ISP could be identifying the FFXIV traffic as lower priority than other traffic and throttling it during peak times (there have been reports of some ISPs identifying FFXIV traffic as file sharing traffic so have throttled it) contact your ISP to see what is going on.
This is a common occurrence among ISPs.

I was helping you. Look through the trees to see the forest. It's not all black and white like you think it is. Just because you THINK it isn't on your end, doesn't mean you can accuse SE and blame it on server lag. Depending on where you are located, your request could potentially hop 20-25 times before they reach Montreal or Japan, depending what data center you are trying to hit.
Don't blindly blame SE for things you know absolutely nothing about, and I'll stop calling you out on it. Deal?
Ignore that guy, he's one of the "I HAVE NO PROBLUMS SO NO ONE HAVE THEM HERP DERP!" kind of people.
You're not the only one experiencing severe server lag. And yes, it's on their side due to terrible netcode and all EU/US servers being in Canada.

Not to bash PS3, but that is probably the culprit. Or rather, the PS3 client is. I play on the PS3 as well 90% of the time, and I have seen this too.
The PS3 drawing priority blocks animations until it finishes drawing all nearby playable characters. During peak time in certain areas I can do something and I will watch as suddenly 20 PC start popping up. Only once they are all there will it run the animation perform the action.
This is easiest to see at the retainer bell in the market place during peak time. This I believe is partly a PS3 problem, but it is clearly an issue with the way the game engine itself handles events and and priority and determine what to do.

Look at his sig. That should tell you everything you need to know about that guy, lol. I'm not surprised he was an obnoxious jerk.
I have been having issues as well. Please be aware that ping (your connection to the server) is ENTIRELY different than you data transfer between you and said server. After utilizing wireshark tests,it has been proven that Time Warner Cable is setting data transfer for this game at the lowest possible setting during heavy traffic times. In atleast a portion of these cases, people's ISPs are indeed part of the issue.
As a healer, dungeons were a nightmare with the screen freezes of 1-5 seconds at a time.My fix?A VPN such as WtFast will most likely help you.My dungeons were seamless after I started using it.Setup time is only a few minutes and there is currently a free 30 day trial. This is only a temporary fix if you want to avoid the 9.99 a month fee,but hopefully the issues can be worked out within the next 30 days.Have fun!
