    What is doubly frustrating is that the email you get from Square Enix only repeats exactly what is on the page informing you your credit card registration has been rejected. There is no contact info so that you can call and have the agent enter the info (which is what I have been able to do on other games when encountering difficulties because I am not in my 'home' country). There is no way to tell if your account is now on a 24 hour lock down, a 1 week lock down...I can still log in (for 4 more days until my trial period ends) but I don't know when I can try a different way of registering my credit card. Is there a way to check that I am missing?

    I hope this gives some of you some hope.

    I tried all forms of payment, paypal, Ultimate gamer points, credit cards (multiple). Everything was rejected, and I got a 401 error several times saying that if Multiple attempts were denied it may put a hold on my account. I contacted support and they told me to check my billing info and to wait 24 hours. I went to my credit card website and checked my address to make sure the credit card and the ff14 account were the same, they weren't so i updated it my ff14 account information (they must be using this as the billing address for the card you're using) . I waited a full 24 hours and tried my credit card again and It was accepted and I received a confirmation email. Success! Don't make any form of payment attempt for a full 24 hours to increase your chances of success.


    If you're overseas try asking your parents to enter your credit card info for you. I don't know if that breaks ToS. Proceed at your own digression.

    I don't understand why this is happening to me either. I'm in Australia, my card and financial institution is Australian and it says that in my profile. If SE has locked me out of my account for a month because of their own system incompetency I'm not going to be happy.

    The only reason I can think of is because I'm connecting to a JP server since they have the lowest latency and there are no Oceanic servers. Either way, I'd have thought this'd be a pretty serious issue that would have been ironed out early. Must be difficult if it won't die.

    Ok so after many attempts, and many Error code 401s, I selected UltimatePay to buy Crysta, and there was a PayPal option. If you don't have a PayPal, you can still use this option! It worked just fine, had my crysta, and was able to use it to renew my subscription.

    This is only a lucky find/fix. It SHOULD NOT be this hard for them to take our money...maybe they don't want it that bad? lol Three of my friends used their cards with no problem, we all live in Hawaii (U.S.A.) I am the only one who had to do it the "round-about" way. I hope this helps some people get back on, I was frustrated and close to just quitting. Good Luck everyone!

    UltimatePay rejected my PayPal (Verified account), took my money and they refunded it *wtf*.

    This works for me :
    - Bought $20 UGC Card at some online shop
    - Pay with paypal
    - Go to MogStation, Add-Crysta
    - Pay with UGC
    - Done

    God damn so frustating just for extending my subscription. Not to mention I had to pay extra dollar, that $20 UGC cost more than $20

    For those experiencing issues with the payment error 401 - here's a work around, which i can confirm works for those whose accounts are registered to 'Europe & other regions';

    Purchase a game-time card from http://www.cjs-cdkeys.com/ (at 1st the site appears dodgy, however i received my key immediately & it works)

    Then access the Mog Station and renew your subscription using the code from CJ's Cdkeys

    Voila - you can play again

    Not sure if this breaks any forum rules (linking other sites etc) but given the issues i've had and the fact it's taken me roughly 5 days to find one that works it's a risk i'm willing to take
